LBJ and John Lewis at signing of Voting Rights Act, 55 years ago today, US Capitol: #LBJL

Today trump and the GOP seek to suppress the voting rights of black people in America.

It's the only way they think got they can win elections--

by taking away the right to vote from key demographics like black Americans and Latino Americans.

That's why they're counting on a few racist white Americans to keep them afloat.

They may be surprised to find out that in the suburbs and elsewhere in the United States that racism is not only considered to be evil,

but is also considered to be backward and passe'.

GOP & BLM: Republicans do not agree with the ideas of the Black Lives Matter movement. Eight in 10 Republicans think there has been too much attention recently on the issue of discrimination, compared to 44% of voters overall, and just 12% of Democrats.

White supremacists see racism as being something positive and that discrimination doesn't really exist.

Jacob Blake was shot multiple times by police in broad daylight, in his van, in front of his children. We pray for his recovery and demand accountability from his shooters. Until Black and Brown communities are free from police violence, we will not have justice in our country.

Until the police situation is Thoroughly investigated in the United States, there will be no peace or freedom for anyone.

Tamir Rice was playing with a toy gun and was killed by a cop.

Kyle Rittenhouse walked around Kenosha, WI for 4 hours with an illegal AR-15,

killed two people, injured one and then was allowed to walk right by cops.

Rice was 12.

Rittenhouse is 17.

Double standards are not democratic.

The story also includes this handy guide to the far-right paramilitaries that have been confronting protesters this summer, courtesy

White Vigilantes Have Always Had A Friend In Police

New data shows that far-right vigilantes, often with support from cops, have threatened protesters nearly 500 times since police killed George Floyd.

‘there was an unwritten policy to not utter phrases like “domestic terrorism” and “white supremacy” around the president, for fear that he would take such conversations as implicit criticism of him.’

Hmm why would he automatically assume those things were about him?

With Charlottesville, Kenosha and everything else,

trump will go down as the white supremacist president in American history.

His sister, Maryanne and his niece, Mary, may not like that--

But his Daddy, Fred Trump sr, would have been proud.

We Don’t Know How to Warn You Any Harder. America is Dying.

We Survivors of Authoritarianism Have a Message America Needs to Hear: This is Exactly How it Happens, and It’s Happening Here.

"......Now let me make all the above concrete. I am going to use the example of Kenosha to draw out things that perhaps only we survivors can see — or at least that we see first and easiest. Things that the “real” American is either still playing dumb about, or is still mum about, and both equate to the same thing: silence, which is complicity, in times like these.

When we look at Kenosha, we survivors, and you “real” Americans, do we see the same thing? Do we feel the same gravity, pain, urgency? You will have to tell me. Here is what I see, that I’m 100% sure every survivor sees — but I doubt “real” Americans fully see yet.

What happened there? A young man was radicalized by the movement that fascist President led. The fascist President spoke of hated minorities as animals and vermin. He led his faithful in chants of hate, moments that built the bond of the tribe between them. Soon enough, that President was speaking of peaceful protesters as anarchists and revolutionaries and seditionaries. And the question that the fascist raises was left hanging in the air. “My people, my flock — what do we do with traitors?”

The answer, to a young man like that, is what it was in Nazi Germany, in the Islamic World..........

How did the state’s law enforcement respond? In America, they’re simply called “the police.” They let him do it, and then they protected him. The killer was only brought to justice because there was a national outcry after the act was caught on video. If none of that had happened, he probably would never have been. The police were forced to act, in other words.

What do we survivors see in that tiny parable? Crucial institutions have already been captured by the extremist factions who stand against democracy. Do all those cops think of themselves as fascists? Of course they don’t. So what? Mullahs don’t think of themselves as hate preachers, either. What else do you call someone who gives a violent young man with a gun a free pass to kill people, though? Someone who tries to shield him after the murder? A good and decent person?........

Again, the “real” American will think I’m exaggerating at this point, so let me say it again. This is what more or less every survivor of authoritarianism thinks, not just me. The only people who don’t think, who still dismiss these comparisons as alarmist are the ones who have never experienced authoritarianism. Those of us who have? We know that abductions by paramilitaries in unmarked cars at the whim of a tyrant are really, really bad.

Why? They point to the complete breakdown of the rule of law........

Radio Host Pulled From Air After Calling for Snipers To Shoot Mt. Rushmore Protesters-

"Conservative radio host Wendy Bell has been taken off the air indefinitely after comments made on her show urging park rangers and snipers to fire on protesters attempting to destroy Mt. Rushmore.

In Bell's June 26 broadcast on KDKA-AM, also posted as a video to her Facebook account, she criticized protesters tearing down monuments, specifically Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota.

"If you don't like America, get out. If your idea of peaceful protesting is to rappel off the side of Mt. Rushmore with cans of spray paint and incendiary devices that you hope to stuff somewhere in somebody's eyelid on Mt. Rushmore, my easy solution for the park rangers and hopefully snipers who are going to be watching for this is to shoot on sight. Shoot, done. No more messing with monuments........."

DHS to label white supremacists as the 'most persistent and lethal threat' to the US: report

"The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is set to label white supremacists as the most serious terror threat facing the United States.

In three draft reports reviewed by Politico, DHS says the threat posed by white supremacists is more significant than the immediate danger from foreign terrorists.

“Foreign terrorist organizations will continue to call for Homeland attacks but probably will remain constrained in their ability to direct such plots over the next year,” all three documents say.

Russia “probably will be the primary covert foreign influence actor and purveyor of disinformation and misinformation in the Homeland,” the documents add. ..........

"Lone offenders and small cells of individuals motivated by a diverse array of social, ideological, and personal factors will pose the primary terrorist threat to the United States,” the earliest draft reads.

“Among these groups, we assess that white supremacist extremists – who increasingly are networking with likeminded persons abroad – will pose the most persistent and lethal threat......

None of the drafts refer to Antifa, the loose association of anti-fascist groups that President Trump and Republicans have described as dangerous anarchists and terrorists,.....

Missouri men arrested on federal firearms charges for allegedly traveling to Kenosha to ‘pick people off’

".......Prosecutors said the two men consented to a search of their vehicle and hotel room. Federal agents discovered a litany of firearms and ammunition, including an Armory AR-15 rifle, a Mossberg 12-Gauge shotgun, a homemade silencer, two handguns, a silencer, ammunition, body armor, a dagger, a folding knife, a drone, and other materials.

Karmo said he and Smith lived together in Hartville, Missouri, located in Wright County and were members of the 417 Second Amendment Militia.

Karmo allegedly told federal investigators they traveled to Kenosha to “see for themselves” what was going on with the riots and protests in the area.

The two admitted to attending a rally for the president at a local high school.

Karmo said the two planned to travel to Portland, Oregon, and that he would “take action” if police in that city were defunded.......

The report that U.S. President Donald Trump made crude, disparaging remarks about Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s Nobel Peace Prize-winning former leader, has drawn an angry response from South Africa’s ruling party and others.

The Civil Rights Act of 1957 created the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. Sixty-three years later, says @KristenClarkeJD, the Trump administration has turned the division upside down, “refashioned [it] to promote a curdled vision of America”

Important piece by @KristenClarkeJD on the decimation of the work of the DOJ Civil Rights Division under the Trump Administration.

trump seeks to destroy civil rights protections for Americans by attacking the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.

The DOJ's Civil Rights Division sued trump for housing discrimination against black Americans during the Nixon Administration in the 1970s.

This is trump's way of seeking Revenge.
