Hitchcock noted that Vivien was entirely wrong for the lead in REBECCA, though she tested for the part, due to her temperament and strong personality; however, she would have been perfect for the role of Rebecca, had the character appeared in the film....

MORE Hitchcock and Lorre collaboration?  Hmmmm....

 

Kinda makes me wonder what direction "Dial M for Murder"  would have taken.

 

I don't know.....

 

I just can't picture GRACE KELLY and ROBERT CUMMINGS chasing Lorre through an old German factory.  ;)

Also too beautiful. She just couldnt look mousy........
