Late last month, the man who has ruled post-genocide Rwanda for two decades rejected "Western democracy" and asserted Africa's need for its own version of democracy. LawrenceA
When Hurricane Irma came through and knocked out the power around here, all I had for entertainment or information was the radio. I thought even that would be no help, since our local rock, pop, and talk stations all went out with the power, and the only thing I could pick up were the three local country music stations, all of whom had generators and kept broadcasting at near full power. Not being a fan of country music, I was set to turn the radio off when I just happened to pick up NPR (National Public Radio) from nearby Gainesville. I ended up listening to it for several hours, and I just wanted to point out that nearly everything you've discussed in this thread so far was also covered on NPR during those 36 or so hours.
