mr6666
The NRA Says It’s in Deep Financial Trouble, May Be ‘Unable to Exist’ "....The lawsuit stems from actions taken by New York financial regulators to halt the sale of an illegal, NRA-branded insurance policy. The NRA actively marketed “Carry Guard,” a policy to reimburse members for legal costs incurred after firing a legal gun. In May, the state of New York found that Carry Guard “unlawfully provided liability insurance to gun owners for certain acts of intentional wrongdoing.” The NRA’s insurance partners agreed to stop selling the policies and pay a $7 million fine. The NRA complaint alleges that New York was not content to block this single insurance product, but instead campaigned to sever the NRA’s ties to a wide range of financial service providers, from insurance companies to banks. .. In its complaint, the NRA paints these actions as a “malicious conspiracy to stifle the NRA’s speech and induce a boycott of the NRA.” Cuomo and state regulators, the NRA alleges, were intent on “suppressing the NRA’s pro-Second Amendment viewpoint” and had engaged in “unlawful conduct with the intent to obstruct, chill, deter, and retaliate against the NRA’s core political speech.” In the filing, the NRA reveals that its longtime insurer broke off negotiations this winter and “stated that it was unwilling to renew coverage at any price.” [Emphasis in original.] The NRA claims it “has encountered serious difficulties obtaining corporate insurance coverage to replace coverage withdrawn.” In addition, the NRA contends that “multiple banks” have now balked at doing business with it “based on concerns that any involvement with the NRA — even providing the organization with basic depository services — would expose them to regulatory reprisals.”....... https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/nra-financial-trouble-706371/

Safely securing firearms prevents unintentional guns discharges, suicides, gun theft. NRA is literally suing to ensure gun owners can act irresponsibly This is a necessary lawsuit to determine if Seattle city officials have gone too far and violated the 2nd Amendment. Someone defending their home has a right to 'quick and easy' access of a firearm. Therefore the Supreme Court needs to determine how 'secure' a firearm needs to be. Note that most pro-gun-control law folks are upset when conservatives pass laws making it much more difficult to obtain an abortion.

mr6666
Father Of Parkland Shooting Victim Sculpts Haunting Image Of Child Hiding Under Desk Manuel Oliver created “The Last Lockdown” partially using 3D printing. "Artist Manuel Oliver, who lost his 17-year-old son Joaquin during the February shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, has created a striking sculpture depicting a child hiding under a desk to signify when a school is on lockdown. The statue is one of 10 being shown across the country during voter registration drives, specifically in congressional districts where politicians back the gun lobby. The title of the project is “The Last Lockdown.” he figures were created using 3D printers, an intentional reference to the debate over guns potentially being 3D printed. The desks are real school desks. “We want you to feel unsettled,” the project’s co-creator Sean Leonard said. Oliver and Leonard teamed up with Giffords, the gun reform group founded by former congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Giffords is a mass shooting victim herself, being left partially paralyzed after a lone gunman opened fire at a meet-and-greet in Tucson, Arizona, in 2011. In the run-up to the midterm elections, the new statues will appear in cities including Parkland, Florida, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Denver and Milwaukee. “It’s too late for us to save Joaquin from gun violence,” Oliver said. “But through art my family and I are making sure that we protect the rest of the kids out there.”,,,,,,,,, https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/parkland-shooting-manuel-oliver-art-student-desk_us_5ba3eff1e4b069d5f9d12c4b
