America's Gun Culture...

Leave Your Gun Out, Go to Jail

Carelessly stored firearms kill two children a week. That won’t change until we start prosecuting parents.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2015/10/gun-accidents-why-are-parents-who-leave-loaded-weapons-lying-around-never-prosecuted.html

Sounds like depraved indifference based on what I have learned from Law & Order.

Gun violence: America's other epidemic

".......Commissioner Harrison knows he's battling a culture of gun violence, and it's a national problem: "There are no gun stores in Baltimore, so they're coming from outside of the city. About 50% are coming from outside of the state.

"There is the culture of carrying guns. The same number who are arrested for illegally carrying guns is the same demographic of people who become the victims of shootings, and perpetrators of shootings."............

Gunmaker Remington subpoenas the report cards and disciplinary records of five children who were shot dead in Sandy Hook massacre

Gunmaker subpoenas report cards of five kids shot dead in Sandy Hook massacre

Remington has subpoenaed for the academic, attendance and disciplinary records for five kids who were shot dead in the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre after their families filed a lawsuit against the bankrupt gunmaker. The subpoena was revealed in a court filing made by lawyers for the families of the five children seeking modifications to an order of protection to prevent the release of the records. Remington also subpoenaed for the employment files of four educators who were killed during the horrific massacre, who are included in the lawsuit. The nine families who lost family members when 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut filed the wrongful death lawsuit against Remington on December 15, 2014. The case, which claims Remington recklessly marketed its Bushmaster Model XM15-E2S .223-caliber semiautomatic rifle, will go to trial this month. The court filing, obtained by DailyMail.com, reads that 'there is no conceivable way' that the records requested by the gunmaker 'will assist Remington in its defense.'

Remember: Freud said men who obsess over guns have small genitals. According to Freud, the compulsion to own firearms stems from an unconscious need to compensate for a sense of inadequacy: in males, specifically, a small johnson.

Good going, Texas.............MORE BOOZ & GUNS  <_<

I have come to the conclusion that all states need to ban alcohol sales between 10 PM and 8AM.  This would include bars, restaurants, drug stores and grocery and convenience stores.  Might make the roads a little safer, if nothing else.

S.C. just passed similar one that for right now requires completion of a training course.  However, I am sure the GOPers in state legislature and state house will eliminate the training requirement fairly soon.

How many law enforcement officers are going to ask to see training certificate?  None ?  Will they only ask it of people of color and not whites? Probably.

.......The law allows private citizens to sue ....(gun sellers)and anyone else who helps a (person) obtain a ..... (GUN) — including those who give a ...(person) a ride to a .... (gun provider/retailer) or provide financial assistance to obtain a .... (GUN).

Private citizens who bring these suits don't need to show any connection to those they are suing.

  -_-

"Prior to this morning, this guy was a war hero. He fought for his country in Afghanistan and Iraq," said Judd. "And this morning he's a cold-blooded killer."

Riley, who had no criminal history,

Had no run in with the law so if he purchased any firearms would more likely had passed the background check.  How will any gun control law prevent shootings from a person whom suddenly snapped without warning?

No law is designed to prevent something 100%.   Instead they are there to mitigate risk - to reduce harm.     I assume you already know this,  but I only point it out since sometimes people ask such questions when they are really just trying to say; therefore this law shouldn't be passed (I'm NOT saying you're doing this).

It won't, but it will make it harder for those who are already documented as threats to get one.  Better laws will also make it more difficult to purchase ammunition and specific types of weapons.
