Snorky
We now have an extra step to making a post. THE RESULT PAGE! So instead of making a post and being bounced to the beginning of the thread then clicking on page 1 to bring you back to the current posts we now get the result page or whatever it's called - we then click on return to thread - which bounces us to the beginning of the thread - we can then then click on page 1 to return to the current posts. Why not be immediately returned to the current posts? That's how it used to work.
FredCDobbs
Snorky, that might be a way to solve the problem of the board freezing up. That gives time for various posts to be added to the threads one at a time, in order, while others wait in line a few extra seconds. I noticed the new page just after the weekend a couple of weeks ago when the board wasn't working at all. I don't mind this extra step because it seems to have speeded up posting with no board hang-ups.
Snorky
Thanks, Fred. Well, the post still doesn't always show up once you make it back to the current page of the thread - sometimes even after hitting F5 again. Be nice if they had a link to the current page on that "pre-view page". And the return to thread link is sssllloooooooowwww. It's quicker to click on the forum link (Hot tops., Gen, Discuss., Your Favs., etc.) then the thread again. Or maybe easier to just hit (internet) back twice then stop then F5 to refresh.
