I didn't include Berlin Alexanderplatz, because it's a miniseries. It would be my #2.

It has a subsequent theatrical release overseas so it was also a feature as was Scenes from a Marriage.  If you care to you can always go back and add it to your list.

Celine Lomez and Charlotte Boisjoli from Louis Carre's It Can't Be Winter, We Haven't Had Summer Yet (1980).  It saw this Quebecois film in the cinema with English subtitles.  Film prints are sadly the only way to see most of these French language films with English subtitles as dvd releases do not exist.  It Can't Be Winter tells the tale of a woman nearing sixty who is suddenly widowed and how she deals with the traumatic change.  As usual, Celine Lomez is a standout.

Les Bons Debarras (1980) by Francis Mankiewicz (a distant relative of Ben's!) stars Marie Tifo and Charlotte Laurier. It won 8 Canadian Genie Awards.  It takes place in rural Quebec - think Blue Valentine.  Tifo is a single mother of young Laurier.  Laurier resents the time her mother spends with a suitor and therein lies the conflict.  This film is on dvd with English subtitles.  But as one reviewer pointed out the dvd distributor refused to get involved with the people restoring the film for theatrical re-release and used a very poor quality video print as their source material.  It's a sad state of affairs when films from the 1970's and 1980's are now the hardest to obtain copies of.  The small distribution companies have either gone belly up or have no interest in spending money on a release of an old film.

August Schellenberg stars as a man falsely accused of murder in The Coffin Affair (1980) by Jean-Claude Larecque of Quebec.  It's not a bad look at how a corrupt government can concoct a case against an innocent man for political expediency.  Gabriel Arcand and Micheline Lanctot co-star.
