LsDoorMat
I'd like to see a DVD boxed set release along the lines of the old "Dawn of Sound" laserdisc set. I can come up with about three volumes of stuff as follows: V1-Lights of New York/Hollywood Revue/Show of Shows/The Big House/Disraeli/A Matrimonial Bed V2- Noah's Ark/Sally/Under a Texas Moon/Dawn Patrol (1930)/The Last of Mrs. Cheney (1929)/Untamed V3- The Singing Fool/So Long Letty/The Unholy Night/Coquette/Min & Bill/Madame X (1929) These should all belong to Warner Home Video. If they only want to put out one volume I'd include the following: The Singing Fool (1928 Part Talkie with Al Jolson) Lights of New York (First All Talking Picture, but horribly creaky) Hollywood Revue (The best of the all-star revues of the early talkie era) Disraeli (early Academy Award Best Actor winner) Min & Bill (early sound comedy) The Big House (First film to win Academy Award for best sound) I omitted "Hallelujah" and "Broadway Melody" because they're already on DVD. The problem with all of this is I'm probably the only person who would buy such a set.
Film_Fatale
Personally I'd be happy with a Min & Bill / Tugboat Annie double feature DVD.
