libeledlady
It had an older sister in her 20's/30;s taking care of her little brother and in it they're always saying..."That's tough, what is? Life. What's life? A magazine. What's it cost? A dime. I only have a nickel. That's tough".... From what I remember it's a romantic comedy and the sister falls in love with the aid of the little brother (I think)

libeledlady
I know Bachelor and the BobbySoxer very well. One of my favs. This wasn't it though. I remember seeing this movie 20 years ago on AMC at the time. The little boy is about 11 years old and I don't think there are any notable leads in it. markfp2
No notable leads? Just Cary Grant, Myrna Loy and Shirley Temple? Funny how the memory plays tricks.
CineSage_jr
She just wrote that the film she's thinking of isn't THE BACHELOR AND THE BOBBY-SOXER, and that whatever the film's title, its leads aren't as illustrious as those in the Grant film. danthemoviefan
Those words seem to be from a '40s-era riddle and might have been used in any number of films. Similar words are in the chorus of "That's Life (That's Tough)," an early '60s pop hit by Gabriel and the Angels. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUZOFRxjJP4
BornInBoston
I need some help with the name of this movie. I have not seen this movie for 30 plus years. The story revolved around amoney tree. It had this lady picking $$ from blooms on a tree in her back yard. 1's,5's,10's,20's,50's,100 dollar bills. She stuffed them in a cookie jar and later when she took them out they had turned to dried leaves. I think it was made in the 40's or 50's and may have been in black and white. BornInBoston
Fred, thank you for the help with the Irene Dunn movie, It Grows On Trees. I have 2 move movies that I can't think of the titles. One has to do with a german shepard dog getting killed and going to heaven. The other movie I am interested in has to do with West Point, it may have been a musical and I remember a song about a girl Berrnadean or Bernadett? Pat Boone could have been in it. Thanks
FredCDobbs
Does the dog come back to earth as a man who searches for his killer? That could be: ?You Never Can Tell?, 1951 (man dog, lady horse) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044223/ Pat Boone was in a high school musical called "Bernardine" in 1957: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050184/
scsu1975
Boston: Pat Boone was in a movie called BERNADINE, although I don't think it has to do with West Point. BornInBoston
Fred, (AND OTHERS) again you filled in the blanks. It was the Dick Powell movie I was thinking about. "You never can tell". I think the last time I saw that movie must have been before Cable TV. The other movie I am not so sure of. Thanks for the help.
