rainingviolets21
There was a wonderful series in the 70's called Hollywood and the Stars on every Sunday they were half-hour shows about different actors and actresses - I have never seen such a tribute to Old Hollywood as done on this show-what made the shows more spectacular was the breathtaking music score -I really wish TCM would look into showing this series as there is no documentary done better than these.~
ChelseaRialtoStudios
It was actually from the early 1960's. The main title theme was by Elmer Bernstein. It was produced by Jack Haley Jr. and David Wolper for UA television but there are also non-UA (now Warners) clips so I'm sure clearance is an issue. And, of course, the superb narration was by Joseph Cotten. Haley Jr. did another series in the 70's called THAT'S HOLLYWOOD, annoyingly narrated by Tom Bosley. A bit more flash and a bit less documentary.
