MGMMayer
This event was discussed briefly on this message board a month or two ago, but it's time to bring you the official announcement of Cinefest 28 (our 28th consecutive year), brought to you by the Syracuse Cinephile Society. Cinefest is a four-day film festival which features rare and seldom-screened classic films (both silent and sound) that are not readily available on TV (not even cable) or commercially-released video and DVD. We utilize 16mm and 35mm prints from well-respected film archives (The George Eastman House, The Library of Congress, etc.) as well as private collectors throughout the country. TCM has hightened interest in long-lost films with its excellent "Lost and Found" festivals, and "lost" films such these (different titles, of course) are just the kind of films which are Cinefest's specialty. For further info (location, hotel registration details, etc.), as well as the first batch of film titles which we are announcing, please log onto: www.picking.com and click on the "Cinefest 2008" icon link. Please remember that this is only a PARTIAL list of the films that we'll be screening....more titles will be added later, so stay tuned! This is an annual event for classic film lovers who travel to Syracuse, New York from all over the United States, Canada and even Europe, and we hope to see a good number of loyal TCM viewers there!
