THE EDGE OF THE WORLD (1937)

A heads up for this little seen Michael Powell work, EDGE is an incredible looking film that anticipates films like Visconti's LA TERRA TREMA (1947) by a decade. As times change, a fishing village slowly erodes to extinction. If this sounds like good bait to you, cast your line tomorrow morning!

Strong entry for the Powell-Pressburger fans to see, and for others who aren't. I'm glad this film has made it onto DVD.

This film and I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING are great films that use their locations like more than just a backdrop. People wrote about HORSE WHISPERER's use of its landscape, but I think EDGE and I KNOW are even more impressive uses of their locations.
