Arkadin
A heads up for this little seen Michael Powell work, EDGE is an incredible looking film that anticipates films like Visconti's LA TERRA TREMA (1947) by a decade. As times change, a fishing village slowly erodes to extinction. If this sounds like good bait to you, cast your line tomorrow morning!
Erebus
I agree that it is special. It offers a view into an alien, much simpler life that has mostly disappeared despite having existed relatively recently. The setting alone makes it rather exceptional. One of my favorite movies. OllieTSB
Strong entry for the Powell-Pressburger fans to see, and for others who aren't. I'm glad this film has made it onto DVD. This film and I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING are great films that use their locations like more than just a backdrop. People wrote about HORSE WHISPERER's use of its landscape, but I think EDGE and I KNOW are even more impressive uses of their locations.
