coolrob1955
Lots of great music here. Keep up the good work people. *Wynona Carr - Till The Well Runs Dry* When she wasn't jumping the blues, she was rocking the Gospel... *Sister Wynona Carr - Life is a Ball Game* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyxDG2pgqYY A song for Easter *Atlanta Symphony and Chorus Directed by Robert Shaw - Ubi Caritas (Duruflé).* This lovely song ends with one of the most beautiful Amen's I've ever heard. Anyway, on the back row with the rest of the sinners I'm listening to one of the sexiest songs ever recorded... Happy birthday Miss Kappelhoff, and God bless you for this one. Play it loud, this is a fine example of the 'Wall Of Sound' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H9-fmSr830 Best wishes Metairie Road

casablancalover
I love the distinctive voice of Burton Cummings. He is such a stand out, and he can create such feeling in so few notes.. Thank you for carrying it on. h5. Back to my taxes.. Edited by: casablancalover on Apr 10, 2012 8:00 PM

casablancalover
Hello, everyone! Done with my taxes.. But with various discussions going on, this song kept playing in my head.. [Gene Pitney|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDN4L7cAQf0] There were many great western songs: [Paladin|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgvxu8QY01s] h5. casablancalover
Thanks, SansFin. How did you find this? At first I thought it an incredible effort at creativity and style, but then... I don't want a wood phone. It's a commercial. [Ovaltine|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdA__2tKoIU] I feel like Ralphie. Here's a word from our sponser, when commercials were simpler: [Oscar Mayer weiners|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L8h8rKvAGI]
SansFin
I believe it to be a massive effort and wonderfully creative. As the product is only shown at the end it seems to me to be nearly a non-commercial commercial. I have looked for my favorite musical commercial and I am sad to say I can not find it. It is Stealers Wheel's Stuck in the Middle with You while showing a clothesline filled with thong panties. It was the first time I had heard the song and now I can not hear the song and not think of that commercial.
casablancalover
I dunno, Sans.. Now that I know it's a commercial, I always think its all faked. They do wonderful things with CGI these days. Sorry to hear about Robin Gibb.. The BeeGees. They were was steamroller of hits,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JECTUQVrvzE Andy Gibb: Edited by: casablancalover on Apr 14, 2012 10:27 PM

SansFin
This shows it being made: http://answer.nttdocomo.co.jp/touchwood/#making I read that an artist wished for many years to make it and could not find any person or corporation to pay for it. It was by luck they found a tie-in to a commercial.

Another favorite is their next 45 released after "Words" in 1968 - a weird one called "Jumbo". Not their biggest hit, but still a fave of mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA-ucP30XhE
casablancalover
Thanks for posting the follow-up to show the how-done... I bow to the master... It is much more a Brandenburg Concerto in their process than a slogan for a pitchman. I still wouldn't buy a wood phone, I wonder if the fellow did dominos previously? Stealer's Wheel appears to have removed all content other than their approved videos,
