Love Street!!

Oh, wait. That was about her house... You're thinking of a different song?

"Totally different" - that's for sure!

Here's George Thorogood (I'm not a fan):

I had the good fortune, back in 1988, to see Tracy Chapman in concert as an opening act for 10,000 Maniacs (I was a huge Maniacs fan and saw them live 7 times). Anyway, it was just Tracy and her guitar, but by the end of the set she had brought down the house. She was incredible. I got her debut album right afterward.

This song is lesser known, probably, but it's so emotional and heartfelt. "For You":

Aw, bummer. :) Well, I can see where you're coming from - I only like 3 John Denver songs.

How about Blondie? Vote now! ;)

Oh, that's hilarious, because those two were what I was going to post first (I was scrolling through my iTunes list to pick something...)

I love Parallel Lines. My favorite album from them.

"Hangin' On The Telephone":

"One Way Or Another":

One last one just for you - "Sunshine on My Shoulder":

I had a Father's Day song all lined up, and Jake beat me to it. That is quite all right with me. Check out his site for it, Much better choice for today than a BOY NAMED SUE or something funny like that, though my dad liked A BOY NAMED SUE.. I think it was the only Johnny Cash song he did like.. My dad also loved Spike Jones.. so for dad a favorite:

Oh yeah, I guess my dad wasn't the only subtle passive/aggressive parent out there.. I loved my dad's character antics too. Maybe it's the special bond of fathers and daughters.
