It's very reassuring to see so many Jimi Hendrix lovers here. Even a simple three-chord jam is sweet music.

I've been goin' over Crosstown Traffic the last four days - off and on. I'm workin' up a softer acoustic version on my six-string. Already did one for The Wind Cries Mary.. though a Strat really does it justice - nice ballad.

Hendrix is the one classic rock artist that I like a lot better now than I did back in the '60s and '70s.

He was amazing back then, but I had no real appreciation of his creations until I had myself become a musician and hoed the same row  - so to speak. Same with Dylan.30uakjn_th.gif

I can't believe you know about "She and HIm." I thought nobody around here had heard of them but me.

That means you must be (maybe?) familiar with Matthew Ward. I really like him,his music is just plain good music. I don't like to label, but if I had to with him, I'd say he makes exceptionally good "folk/singer-songwriter" rock.

Here's something from his 2009 album, "Hold Time":

Good choices.  Incense and Peppermints and Along Comes Mary are on my i-Pod.  How hard to choose just ten!  The Rascals (also known as The Young Rascals?) song doesn't ring a bell, so I'll have alook for it.

Add "Tell Her No", by the Zombies, to my list-------a grievous omission.

Aside from 'Time Has Come Today", and "Ballad of John and Yoko", Cousin Brucie should be ashamed of himself.    (including some of the worst songs from various artists I like)

Couple weeks back Dhani Harrison was on Conan doing a killer rendition of his father's 'Let It Down' (from the brilliant 'All Things Must Pass'). Did a pretty good job.

Thank you for posting this!  I'd not seen Dhani Harrison ever perform, so to see him do this beautiful version of his father's song was a treat, and emotional experience.  I'm inspired to bring out that remarkable album.

Thank you for posting this!

You're very welcome.

You know, I've purchased that album no less than 4 times in my life - twice on vinyl and twice on cd. The 2001 re-master was a significant improvement in sound quality over the first cd issue. Still the best solo album by any Beatle ever - followed by Lennon's primal-scream album of the same year (1970).
