DownGoesFrazier
Tim Hauser, the founder of Manhattan Transfer, arguably the greatest jazz vocal group ever, has died at 72. R.I.P.............The group's "The Shaker Song" is a real favorite of mine. It and "Sing Sing Sing" are the only jazz on my ipod.
TheGayDivorcee
You're very welcome. You know, I've purchased that album no less than 4 times in my life - twice on vinyl and twice on cd. The 2001 re-master was a significant improvement in sound quality over the first cd issue. Still the best solo album by any Beatle ever - followed by Lennon's primal-scream album of the same year (1970). This was one of my favorites: It that Leon Russell on piano? darkblue
Is that Leon Russell on piano? Sure is. That clip is, I believe, from George's concert for Bangladesh.
TheGayDivorcee
Sure is. That clip is, I believe, from George's concert for Bangladesh. Such a distinctive voice, but he somehow looked different. Younger, I guess! I wonder if the concert was the first to raise money for a cause. I'll have to look for it on YouTube.
misswonderly3
I think I like George 's post-Beatles music the best. Some of his songs can move me to tears. Here is a very beautiful song by Radiohead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z_NvVMUcG8
TheGayDivorcee
In memory of the great Jack Bruce. My dad drove my older sister and me to a sports arena to see Cream in 1968 or so. He waited for us outside in the parking lot. I think it was even a school night.

darkblue
From the file of forgotten chart records of the past, here's one from 1970 by Vic Dana. I remember that it would peculiarly be played on Toronto's CHUM station every day between 4:30 and 5:00 pm - as I was on my way home from work - for a couple of weeks, until it disappeared. For whatever reason, I've always had a real affection for minor-chord masterpieces like this. This peaked at #47 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apy2u3ZADcY

DownGoesFrazier
I'm trying to find a song. It is either straight rock or new wave, probably from the '70s or '80s. The first line is "Here we go again". Anyone know it?
misswonderly3
DGF, I tried to find what you were asking about, but did not come up with anything that fit your description (there were several songs titled "Here We Go Again", but not with that as the first line.) I love this song. I'll be Your Baby Tonight. Love the melody, the relaxed sound it has, the country guitars. Bring that bottle over here. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xwcg9c_bob-dylan-i-ll-be-your-baby-tonight-1967_music
