>The Rockabilly wonder: Chuck Berry!

No doubt about it...Big Chuck was called Mr Rock and Roll by none other than John Lennon.

Here's another great Founding Father of Rock who is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Chuck and Little Richard.

>Jake, once again, you and I are on the same wavelength. Love the Monkees.

Hi JF,

I really like the Monkees and I believe they are a lot better Rock and Roll band than some so-called critics would have you believe.

Why?

No, they are not the Beatles BUT....

They sold a ton of records, influenced their society, were innovators and they could play their own instruments.

They belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Here's an article about that...you might want to read some of it and have a great evening.

The Monkees wanted to be a legitimate group. They had great songwriters and the music and show helped each other out. People like Neil Diamond, Carole King, Harry Nilsson and Boyce & Hart. I thought Nesmith's music was every bit of interesting as anything else.

It is funny that when they really wanted to do their own thing is when their popularity started to wane some. They may not have been full of big hits then but they was some interesting music.
