coolrob1955
Getting a jump on Bob Dylan's 70th.birthday bash. My favorite song from my favorite Dylan album: Infidels. This song seems to take an ominous turn about half way through; Maybe it's just me. Happy birthday Bob and thanks for all the great songs. casablancalover
Thank you, Metairie, for posting that.. That was very good. I am not familiar with it and I am Minnesotan/child of the sixties--so you would think I would have the Dylan songbook committed to memory. Hibbing's proudest prodigy. If I can find my favorite Dylan songs later, I will post it. casablancalover
I don't like to work Sunday's. Kept thinking of this at work.. Favorite Dylan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk3mAX5xdxo and Joan Baez:
misswonderly3
I used to have to work Sundays, and I hated it ! Just don't feel right, somehow. Seems like a lot of people are thinking of Dylan this week. I always want to post one of his wonderful songs that aren't so well-known, but they never seem to be available on youtube. Not the original Dylan recordings. So, a compromise: as you may know, Bob Dylan was closely associated with a group called The Band for some time ( who were mostly Canadian, I can't resist adding ! ) Anyway, this is an exquisitely beautiful song, with a graceful and yearning quality somehow appropriate to Sundays (although I am, I realize, posting it on a Saturday ). casablancalover
Ha-ha! How can Whispering Pines be confused with Dylan... I mean, I understand the words -they're not garbled.. misswonderly3
That's ok, you can't have too many subterranean homesick blues. Why, I experience them all the time. (Don't nobody ask me to explain what I mean by that.) This just demonstrates that the gracious casablancalover and I have similar tastes in music. DownGoesFrazier
Len Barry is not Motown. He and the other Dovells are about as Philly as you can get, one of the landmark acts of Cameo/Parkway..... I've got to stand up for my home town.
casablancalover
I stand corrected. Thanks for setting the record straight. Len Barry's 1-2-3 was one of my favorites, and even if, not a hit in the summer, I always associate the song with summer. How about peace offering from another Philly guy... Bobby Rydell..
