Off Topic: Favorite Music?

It is a bad angle and poor paint that makes it so unlovely. They were very inexpensive and very reliable. They were much more rugged than a Volkswagen which easily broke on poor roads. The back seat is very roomy and the doors open the proper way for a small car. There are people who love them so much that they restore them:

I do not wish to be blamed for taking a thread off-topic so here is my favorite song performed cabaret-style by my favorite singer:

Please do not take offense at my comments. I do not doubt the 965 is all that you say. Let me restate my comments that the car is of a particular humble nature.

As far as remaining on topic, I cannot think of a stronger connection of Music and Cars! I don't think you were off topic at all.

Maybe the 965 was the incarnation of its particular period as well. Here is a song about a car of humble nature in olive branch offering.

Let us make it a day of cars and song.

I was not in the least offended and I am sorry if I seemed so. The car was what it was and it was not as ugly as many cars in the streets. I believe that if you look at any cars of that period you will not find any which competed with Western cars for appearance.

I very much wanted a 965. I had a 407 which was much larger and harder to handle and not so fast.

Car songs!

The sound on my computer has died and I'm not sure how to get it back, so I'm posting these YouTube clips without hearing them first, but I'm hoping they will be as good as I think they will be:

Commander Cody's original guitarist, Bill Kirchen, is still going strong and plays his own unique updated version of "Hot Rod Lincoln".

Here are two different performances:

Hello everyone.

I have nothing but Christmas music at work, and when you are alone, it's sort of painful to listen to after a while.

But the discussion of Doris Day found me a link to which I clicked and discovered this song I had not heard before:

Very sweet, very Doris Day. I like it.

Thank you for the posting of the tune musicalnovelty, I love it that he's still got it!! Bless him. I hope you find resolution with your sound, bummer.

Thanks for posting that one. I've always (since 1968!) been a Mary Hopkin fan.

It's not Christmas-related, but here's one of my favorites. It came out in 1970 in England and was a big hit. When it finally was released in America in 1972 it went nowhere (but it sold at least ONE 45...to me...and of course I still have it!)

That was a really catchy tune, too bad it didn't chart well here. I too am a fan of Ms. Hopkin.

Here's another beautiful performance by her:
