SansFin
This is an odd presentation and does not include the entire music. It touches me because of the context of the music. It is the night of a meteor shower and a girl in hospital is expected to die. Her friends gather on a hillside: http://youtu.be/0b4EzR909BE "It's a shame they have to be cyborgs." misswonderly3
Some nice New Year's contributions here. One I always play around this time is Frank Sinatra's version of The Best is Yet to Come. Greet the new year with joy and style - hit it, Frank baby!
casablancalover
Great Choices, everybody! I love the Frank Sinatra, and the title, *The Best is Yet to Come.* Ain't it the truth! Perfect for the New Year, any new year. 2012 holds promise for me, and I will seize upon it. Went out NYE with a friend. Realized in the course of events, he is just a friend. That is in itself a great relief. I have friends whose lives are in far more emotional turmoil than mine! Not happy in their lives, yet playing with fire without a plan. All I can do is be supportive and hope they learn to walk through doors and close it behind them and not sneaking out a window and crawling back in later. I hope 2012 brings them strength for their resolve. It's late, I've been working on a website I hope to launch this week, and it's a great year for me, I've decided. I hope it's a great year for you too. Stay honest, stay loving, stay true to yourself. Later.. Charlotte

casablancalover
I don't know a more sweet and hopeful love song. Dinah Shore: I used to think of this as sad, but with life's experiences, it really is such a sweet embrace in song... Can you think of a hopeful love song? SansFin
I am sorry to say I am not positive about what you mean by a "hopeful" love song. I believe all love songs are about hope. Perhaps you can tell me if any of these are within the ken of what you wish: She Will Be Loved http://youtu.be/RBM_srNAOk8 If You're Not The One http://youtu.be/p3bFOT1e-AU It's always darkest before the dawn I Know You're Out There Somewhere http://youtu.be/tjcAXCaEMWs Two Less Lonely People In The World Making Love Out Of Nothing At All I Would Do Anything for Love From Debris How My Heart Behaves Daisy Jane I Can't Tell You Why This Year's love http://youtu.be/6AzEXVUTNYE Colour my world When You Say Nothing At All Next Time I Fall In Love http://youtu.be/AAsfI_fi0-E After The Love Has Gone Born to Love You After All The Last Love The lyrics in English are available in the uploader's original comments. casablancalover
Wow! What a wonderful contribution here! Thank you! Like kismet, a surprise or two as well. My son had been working on the post sound for a new feature coming out in a few weeks. Two Less Lonely People started with a trailer for his latest work: [www.manonaledge.com] I am still listening. You found some great songs I hadn't heard or noticed previously. The Moody Blues one is especially wonderful.
JamesJazGuitar
Well a song like I Will by The Beatles might be a hopeful love song. i.e. a love song about the prospect of love verses a love song about already being in love or about the person they love. SansFin
I thank you for your kind words. I do not know if this is true to your desire for a hopeful love song. The singer is hoping that his lady loves him still and he is hoping that she does not believe the lie told to her. It is one of my favorite songs and it is by my favorite singer: Who Told you I am hoping his voice can move you even although you do not understand the words. I have done my best to translate part of it so you will understand why I think it is wonderful: Do you want to see in my eyes the look in your eyes? And remember all the words and repeat them? Who told you that? Well? Who told you? Who made it up that I do not love you? Every gesture of yours and every glimpse into your soul is part of me. Your voice rings in my heart. No. I can never stop loving you. As you once loved me, I will always love you. I do not want to believe and I do not want What will come with separation and dreams. At night I cry. I cry in grief that you might dream that I do not love you.

casablancalover
h4. IT'S NOT YOU IT'S ME HA! Why do you punish me with Allison Krauss? I need to find a seafood fork to jam in my ears to stop her singing! It's all right; you didn't know I couldn't stand the sound of her voice. And such a cheerful subject. Okay, hum... what am I in the mood for tonight? English Art. Elgar: J. W. Waterhouse: Edited by: casablancalover on Jan 5, 2012 11:21 PM
casablancalover
SansFin: You are welcome. Boy, I wouldn't have figured out the song without your translation! It seemed to be sung with a twinge of bitterness and not hurt.

JamesJazGuitar
What?? That group has no talent! The guys and I that play rock together play a few of their songs. The songs are realy easy, folk rock type, 3 - 4 chord songs. But singing all the parts is very difficult. We need a gal to sing the Roy parts (or one of us needs an operation!). DownGoesFrazier
Is it true that Orbison had the greatest range of any male rock or country singer ever?
JamesJazGuitar
I don't know if Roy had the greatest range but he must be right at top. That is what makes it so hard to sing his part. I might be able to carry the lower mid part but clearly not the high parts. So even if there was someone that could do those high parts, most everyday singers would have a problem with the lower parts. Thus it takes two people just to do the Roy parts. I have enough problems focusing on playing the music and remembering the words!
