Of coarse Obama is only campaigning in the liberal states, as though they need his help.

Obama, on Campaign Swing, Urges 'Sanity in Our Politics'

Obama's appearance — one day after a strongly worded critique of Trump at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign — touched on themes of retirement security, climate change and education.

We will always remember everyone we lost on 9/11, thank the first responders who keep us safe, and honor all who defend our country and the ideals that bind us together.

There's nothing our resilience and resolve can’t overcome, and no act of terror can ever change who we are.

Obama’s Imperial Presidency

Could Donald Trump already be the worst of all American presidents?  In less than two years his record on the world scene has been frightening enough: U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Accords, scuttling of the Iran nuclear treaty, moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, unjustifiably punitive sanctions against Russia, Iran, and Venezuela, terror bombing of Mosul and other Iraq cities, bombastic threats against friends and enemies alike – not to mention a $54 billion gift to the Pentagon and stepped-up nuclear “modernization”.  Hard to imagine much worse.

One article of faith among liberals and the corporate media is that Trump’s presidency stands alone as a house or horrors, unprecedented in its fascistic authoritarianism, crazy pronouncements, and ideological blend of xenophobia, racism, sexism, and sheer extremism.   Those in the “resistance” know that pretty much any alternative (Bill Maher, LeBron James) would be far better, though specifics — beyond Trump’s mortal sin of partnering with Putin — are rarely mentioned.   But precisely what alternatives?   Bernie Sanders?   Well, the Democratic National Committee never gave him much chance.   Obvious comparisons are Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, and his competitor, Hillary Clinton.  Obama was in charge of U.S. foreign policy for the preceding eight years, so his legacy (with plenty of help from Clinton) might be worth considering.

Obama, it turns out, was among the most militaristic White House occupants in American history, taking the imperial presidency to new heights.  It has been said that Obama was the only president whose administration was enmeshed in multiple wars from beginning to end.   His imperial ventures spanned many countries – Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia along with proxy interventions in Yemen and Pakistan.  He ordered nearly 100,000 bombs and missiles delivered against defenseless targets, a total greater than that of the more widely-recognized warmonger George W. Bush’s total of 70,000 against five countries.  Iraq alone – where U.S. forces were supposed to have been withdrawn – was recipient of 41,000 bombs and missiles along with untold amounts of smaller ordnance. Meanwhile, throughout his presidency Obama conducted hundreds of drone attacks in the Middle East, more than doubling Bush’s total, all run jointly (and covertly) by the CIA and Air Force.

I didn't realize that Obama started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. You learn

something new every day.

Misleading "ANALYSIS."  Obama inherited all of Bush's military adventures.  He was faced with total abandonment of years of US foreign policy (Vietnam 1975) or trying to salvage something from the Bush/GOP misadventures.  Remember, Congress was Republican during his administration for six years..

Using bombs, drones, etc. SAVES AMERICAN LIVES, AS WELL AS CIVILIAN.  Would you have preferred American service personnel dying or coming home totally disabled?????

In foreign and military polices, there usually aren't any good choices, only the best of what you have.  Bernie Sanders is totally incompetent when it comes to domestic, much less foreign and military affairs.

ALL American presidents are militaristic.  The people expect it.  The USA has been one of the most militaristic nations since its founding.  Ask Spain or Mexico for a couple.

So far, Trump much less so.

Wrong!  He pushed for and obtained a huge increase in the Defense Dept. budget.  Now that the generals, admirals,  politicians and Trump have access to new toys, they will want to use them.  Trump will be right there with them.  His demand for a military parade is the second step toward becoming most militaristic president.

One of the classic methods to avoid too much attention to what is happening at home is to start a war.  When Ronald Reagan lost over 300 Marines in one day in Lebanon, he quickly invaded Grenada.

Haven't suggested using any "new toys" yet. Cyber-security upgrades are much more likely than conventional wars going forward.

Of course, if the Deep State succeeds somehow in getting Trump out, then I'm sure there'll be lots of regime-change wars to look forward to. Maybe even enough to satisfy Hillary's thirst.

 Obama on the job!

“I was struck by the genuineness of the man; his candor, humility and empathy for others,” Wexner said of Obama, according to the Dispatch. In addition to hearing the former president speak, Wexner’s shift in political attitude also seems attributed to President Trump. The CEO recalled a moment last year when he told employees that he felt “dirty” and “ashamed” when Trump equivocated about white nationalist violence at a rally in Charlottesville, Virginia last year.

The Spill, The Scandal and the President

On May 27th, more than a month into the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, Barack Obama strode to the podium in the East Room of the White House. For weeks, the administration had been insisting that BP alone was to blame for the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf – and the ongoing failure to stop the massive leak. “They have the technical expertise to plug the hole,” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs had said only six days earlier. “It is their responsibility.” The president, Gibbs added, lacked the authority to play anything more than a supervisory role – a curious line of argument from an administration that has reserved the right to assassinate American citizens abroad and has nationalized much of the auto industry. “If BP is not accomplishing the task, can you just federalize it?” a reporter asked. “No,” Gibbs replied.

*******************************************

And so began a whole chain of embarrassing leaks about the whole oil spill fiasco, where Obama did nothing for months to stop it. A President in charge of the worst environmental disaster is US history, and he goes out to play golf instead.

Josh Earnest, last Obama press secretary, pays $3.075 million for Winnetka home

Josh Earnest, who was the final White House press secretary under President Barack Obama, and his wife, Natalie, last month paid $3.075 million for a seven-bedroom, 5,104-square-foot French Provincial house in Winnetka.

A Kansas City native, Earnest, 43, was the White House press secretary from 2014 until 2017. In May, he was named chief communications officer for Chicago-based United Airlines.

Now, Earnest and his wife have put down roots in Winnetka. Built in 2009, the brick house has six bathrooms, millwork, four fireplaces, Ralph Lauren lighting, Ann Sacks tile, a white kitchen with a large island, a mud room with a second laundry room, an attached three-car garage, and a lower level with a bar, billiards room, wine cellar and exercise room. Outside on the 0.43-acre property is a recently extended bluestone patio.

The house first was listed for $3.495 million in April and then was reduced to $3.399 million in May.

Earnest declined to comment on the purchase.

Another rich Democrat, it seems everybody involved with Obama always comes out smelling like roses.

Barack Obama Delivers Fiery Anti-Trump Speeches at Rallies-

"Barack Obama has had it with President Donald Trump and the Republican party. The former president let loose during campaign stops Friday in Milwaukee and Detroit, where he encouraged Democrats to get out and vote in the midterms and warned that the “character of our country is on the ballot” in the upcoming November 6th elections.

Although he did not mention Trump by name, Obama unleashed some heavy criticism of the current president.

Referring to Trump’s relationship with the truth, Obama said, “Throughout human history, certainly throughout American history, politicians have exaggerated. But what we have not seen before in our public life is politicians just blatantly, repeatedly, baldly, shamelessly lying. Just making stuff up.”....

.@BarackObama: "In Washington they have racked up enough indictments to field a football team. Nobody in my administration got indicted. So, how is it that they cleaned things up?"
