Hibi
SAD NEWS! Thanks for posting this. Certainly one of the greatest costume pairings in cinema history. Audrey always insisted on paying the going price whenever she purchased his gowns for special occasions. They were close friends until she died. Did he ever write his memoirs?

Incredibly, I dont think he ever received even an Oscar nomination for any of the films he did with her. I guess he wasnt a union member..........Even Sabrina was stolen from him by Edith Head.

LawrenceA
I'll mention that he was nominated for a Costume Design Oscar once, for 1957's Funny Face, a nom he shared with Edith Head. They lost to Orry-Kelly and Les Girls. 1

IT REALLY WAS. They should've BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI'd that Oscar and sent it to Hubert 30 years later.

None of the Parisian dresses (except maybe the How to Be Lovely number)....... 1

But I have to say that she did marvelous work for Hitch. Miss Head was exceedingly resentful of how Audrey brought in Givenchy to do her personal wardrobe in a number of films. Miss Head carried this hate and resentment to her grave. But I don't think that Edith really could have given Audrey the style and European aura that the star deserved and got from M. Givenchy. There are so many controversies concerning Edith Head that she deserves a thread all her own.
