exapno
eBay has a great Philips model on 'Buy it Now' for under $200 (plus s/h) just do a search for 'Philips HDD'.... I have absolutely NOTHING to do with the sellers - I only have a Philips HDD DVDR, and HIGHLY recommend it for those who want both a decent DVD burner and DVR at a reasonable price. This unit pays absolutely no attention to any encryption that I have encountered so far - including copy protected VHS! These units are quiet, and do not heat up like some HDD recorders do. They make it easy to edit and divide titles, and make GREAT burns on DVD-Rs.The timer and the title labeling is a bit clunky, but the important thing is these babys WORK! and oh yes - the hard drive is an amazing 160GB...most HDD recorders only have 80GB...that extra 80GB gives you much more 'breathing room' I might actually buy an extra one! OldPackard
Thank you for the input. It would appear that I'm going to have to spring for a DVD recorder simply because so many wonderful old movies are not being made available. Thank you once again.
