Steve Martin or Bill Murray?

I adore both of these comedians, although it is difficult to chose which one is the better comedian, and the better actor. Steve Martin is more of a genuine funny, but Bill Murray makes you laugh when you look at him!

Another question, favorite roll of each of them.

Mine would be:

Steve Martin: Trains, Planes, and Automobiles

Bill Murray: The Man who knew too Little

Thanks. -virginia1995

I like them both, but I have to say that Steve Martin would be my favorite of the two. He's quirkier. I love so many Steve Martin films--ROXANNE, L.A. STORY, PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES, PENNIES FROM HEAVEN, THE JERK, SHOPGIRL, PARENTHOOD...

I don't LOVE that many early Bill Murray films, but I love his hangdog performances in RUSHMORE, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS, and THE AQUATIC LIFE OF STEVE ZISSOU, the trio that he made for Wes Anderson. Oh, he is good in ED WOOD, too, but that's really Johnny Depp's film.

Favorite Steve movie--ROXANNE

Favorite Bill movie--GROUNDHOG DAY, with WHAT ABOUT BOB? a close second
