kimpunkrock
Such a great western!!!!!! Anthony Mann and Jimmy Stewart's best western together. Thoughts? Comments?
MikeBSG
I like the interplay between Arthur Kennedy and Jimmy Stewart in this one. Also, this seems a bit indebted to "Red River," with Kennedy taking the wagon train from Stewart, who then pursues him and kills him. I think Borden Chase worked on both scripts, and he had been mad about how Hawks had altered the ending of "Red River." This isn't my favorite Anthony Mann western, but it is certainly a very good one.
movieman1957
It's a fine film but I wouldn't place it over "Winchester '73" or "The Naked Spur."
fenwick
Stewart is very talented. Westerns or other films. Lucky for us,he could do both roles.
