I saw STAR WARS in 1977 when I was 4.  ( Except I had no way of knowing it would be a 'classic'). 

Beyond that, the 1st classic movie I remember watching and understanding enough of was ADVISE AND CONSENT (1962) in 1988.  From a Hal Roach Studios VHS tape. 

Next:  A movie you know is bad, but you like anyway.
