I am surprised at your milktoast response to the In Memoriam piece. As a musician and lover of classic film it actually brought me to tears. It most certainly deserves some kind of an award. It was a true piece of art. Luckily I got it on tape ,played it back and plugged in my guitar and came up with one of my best solos I've played...maybe I'm just too emotional. To me it was the best thing I've seen on TV all year!!

What more can we say guitarmark? We sat and watched with an ache in our hearts as each of the late performers faded in and out on the TV screen, some greats, near greats and those that didn't quite catch the brass ring.

I recall we discussed the "In Memoriam" in detail due to the song that accompioned the piece which I believe is the same song for 2003.

Always a well done segment on TCMs part which most members do appreciate.

May they all rest in peace.

The end of year In Memoriam is always moving, though especially this year--not only because of the loss of such big stars as Gregory Peck and Katharine Hepburn, but also because of the beautiful footage of less celebrated actors. I was especially moved by the beautiful closeup chosen of Martha Scott, (I believe it was from "Tenth Avenue Angel"). Did anyone notice if Anthony Caruso's image had been included in the montage of those who've passed on--if it was I seem to have missed it. I was reminded of his death this year after viewing him in "A Star in the Night" the beautiful short directed by Don Siegal which TCM shares each holiday season. Mr. Caruso's long career certainly earned him a place in the memorial spot, don't you think?
