BobBarr
Please help me find the name of a short I saw yesterday on TCM at approximately 2:50 PM EST. It is a western short, with a theme that parallels the birth of the Christ child. There's a motel, way out in the desert, whose big neon star sign is seen from a good distance away. Stranger sees it, goes to motel to get out of the cold. Husband and pregnant wife come in, no room, she's about to give birth and is taken to a stable, etc. You get the idea. I saw it once before, years ago, around the holiday season. This short is incredibly moving. If it didn't bring tears to your eyes, there's something wrong with you. patful
I didn't see it yesterday, and have been too busy to check the schedule the last few days, but my guess would be Star in the Night (1945), with J. Carrol Naish: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038115/
