CineramaRick
The film is *Blue Skies* (1946) with Astaire and Crosby. The original dancer was Paul Draper. Mark Sandrich was to direct but died of a heart attack and was replaced by Stuart Heisler.

cujas
Thanx, Fi. This tap dancer was blacklisted during the McCarthy Era. Morton Gould's "Tap Dance Concerto" was written for him and he mainly tapped to classical music. In the late 40's, he appeared in an A-movie that starred another famous tap dancer. This movie was adapted from a Broadway play. Can you fill in the particulars? Edited by: cujas on Jul 21, 2011 8:28 PM

cujas
Yes, Metz it's Paul Draper. And, yes, Fi--Draper appeared in Saroyan's play and movie adaptation which starred James Cagney. Metz it's yours--If you pass, Fi may want to pick up the slack.
