DownGoesFrazier
It seems that booze and cigarettes should hurt one's tennis game. This legendary actor made his film debut in a mid-'40s noirish film. At least 4 other eventually well-known actors tested for the same role, but were rejected. Actor? Rejected testers? Film? DownGoesFrazier
One of them made his film debut a couple years after MARTHA IVERS, and received a "Best Actor" Oscar nomination for his performance.
emgee1
Gregory Peck?
DownGoesFrazier
No..... All four of these actors became well-known in films. All of them had their film debuts not long after the year in which MARTHA IVERS was released. One of them was in Billy Wilder film early in his film career. Another was in a Robert Mitchum film early in his career. A third made a huge impression as a bad guy early in his career. The fourth, who was Oscar-nominated for his first film, also co-starred early in his career in a film with an actress who won an Oscar for that film. lavenderblue19
Hiw about Fred MacMurray, William Holden and Burt Lancaster ??? Also, are you aware that Kirk was suppose to have the LEAD as the Sam role, when he got off the plane he was told he now had the Walter role in Martha Ivers. Heflin got the role that originally Kirk tried for? So which role are you asking about? Edited by: lavenderblue19 on Jan 26, 2014 1:38 PM
DownGoesFrazier
None of them, but focus on Holden. Holden starred in a particular film, when one of the 3 remaining actors might have.
lavenderblue19
I added a question to my response, which role? How about Tony Curtis? Edited by: lavenderblue19 on Jan 26, 2014 1:50 PM
