starliteyes
This mid-thirties MGM film was the first film to take out media ads campaigning for an Academy Award. Despite the campaign, the film did not receive any nominations. Name the film.

Kid Dabb
Very good. Your thread. scalpel...metzenbaum scissors.. ----------------------------------------------- Next: During "The Studio Era", There were a number of situations where one studio would control all of the theaters in a town or city - perhaps the most egregious instance of this was when (this studio) owned every theater in Detroit, enjoying a monopoly on film distribution in one of America's largest cities. Name this studio

laffite
1939, Classic Western, ensemble cast, iconic director gives the star treatment to iconic actor who hasn't made the mark that he will later, treatment being 'grand entrance' via zoom lens closing in on said star at his first appearance in the story. If you can come up with the actor, you'll know all the above as well. I believe this is a rather famous camera shot. Name the actor.

lavenderblue19
Hey Genie, no fair, you're the Missy expert around here LOL Absolutely correctamundo. Robert Wagner wrote about their relationship in his memoirs. They had a 4 year relationship, Stanwyck was more than 25 years older than Wagner and it was pretty hush, hush at the time. This was after she and Robert Taylor divorced, and most probably was an ego boost for her, having a much younger, great looking guy desiring her. Thanks, and it's your turn to post one
