DownGoesFrazier
This is one of your stranger questions! Not sure what you're looking for but I'll take a shot with Dean Martin ? the Browns was Jerry's hangout ( I've been there, a gazillion years ago) and Frank Sinatra first started out at the Rustic Cabin if I'm understanding the last clues? Frank Tashlin directed Dean in Artists and Models and Gordon Douglas directed Dean in Robin and the 7 Hoods ? so Dean is the link for all of them? Sorry. I didn't say one person was the link. I said that Douglas and Tashlin each had a particular relationship with a different person. Those different persons were the ones indicated in the clue. lavenderblue19
What do Frank Tashlin and Gordon Douglas have in common? This is your original question. sounds like 1 person in common. Still don't understand this question and judging from the lack of responses, it still needs clarification.
lavenderblue19
One of the other persons---"Browns is his favorite resort".....The other of the "other persons"---worked at the Rustic Cabin. Like I wrote earlier, Jerry Lewis said Brown's was his favorite resort and Frank Sinatra started out at the Rustic Cabin. Is that what you're looking for? Is that what you're looking for? Yes. Now keep going. Refer Lewis and Sinatra back to Douglas and Tashlin.
lavenderblue19
Yes. Now keep going. Refer Lewis and Sinatra back to Douglas and Tashlin. They both (Lewis and Sinatra) made films with Tashlin and Douglas, and there's a Dean connection as I preciously mentioned, and that's that. I'm done, sorry. I'm done, sorry. The answer I was looking for is that both Tashlin (Jerry Lewis) and Douglas (Frank Sinatra) are best known for directing films with one particular star. You can take it, Lavender. lavenderblue19
Thank You Miles. Bernard Gorcey was Louie Dumbrowsky, Leo Gorcey was Slip Mahoney andDavid Gorcey was Chuck in The Bowery Boys movies. Use to watch the films on channel 5 in NY on Saturdays. Guess they were also a part of your childhood. Good work, your thread Miles
MilesArcher
Thanks. David Gorcey never had much to say in those films. Now, this young boy was in several movies in the forties. As a young adult in the fifties, he was in a couple of TV series, one in a support role, and one as the star. Can you name him?
Edythevanhopper
Dunno, Miles..are you Dwayne Hickman??
MilesArcher
Nice going, Edythe. It is indeed Dwayne Hickman. He was in the "My Dog Rusty" movies with Ted Donaldson in the forties. In the fifties he was a regular on "The Bob Cummings Show", and then he starred as Dobie Gillis. Initially the character was very blonde, but his hair was darkened to it's natural color later in the series. OK, Edythe, It's your turn now. lavenderblue19
All good guesses so far. Another film and other actresses The 2 actresses that turned the role down were usually in musicals. The actress who took the role, was not known for musicals. The film is definitely NOT a musical
