tommyphils31 Posted June 26, 2015 Share Posted June 26, 2015 I am not 100% sure about the lawsuit angle, but mobster Crazy Joe Gallo did not approve of the character based on him in The Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight by Jimmy Breslin. Crazy Joe got "whacked" not too long after the movie came out. This probably isn't the right answer, but all this Godfather stuff has me locked onto one genre. Another baseball movie, "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars And Motor Kings", had a character named "Esquire Joe", played by Stan Shaw. Foxx and Wilson, two of the greatest hitters of their time, like so many of that era, died penniless and way before their time. Low pay, no pensions, little education, and hard living provided few options but a pauper's grave after one's playing days. Tragic. On the second day, the Union stemmed the tide of battle by defending their left flank from attack. This incident was depicted in the movie "Gettysburg" (1993). The movie was filmed there and the Battle Of Little Round Top was filmed on the exact location of the original battle. They used thousands of Civil War re-enacters, many of whom provided their own uniforms and equipment. It's your turn now, Edy.
