Princess of Tap
IN the Jolson story Al Jolson flies cross country from his Hollywood movie set to be with Ruby Keeler for her opening night on Broadway. Truth of the matter was that he was there every night jumping out of the audience and singing that song. Hollywood didn't make that up that was a true story. Can you remember what song he sang, who wrote it and the show that it came from?
starliteyes
The song was "Liza," introduced in the Ziegfeld show Show Girl, and it was composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin and Gus Kahn.
Princess of Tap
That was very good Star, especially the Gus Kahn Part. But I'm not surprised you know this song because, after all,Judy named her first child after this song. Now for a Star turn - -
