GENERAL TRIVIA QUESTION THREAD

Recommended Posts

>tell me in what two films of the 1940's did the hero commit murder and got away with it, in one the murderer got right on the witness stand, and they blamed someone else? and both films got right by the production code...

Hmm, I don't feel to good about this one. At the moment I do remember that in Grapes of Wrath Henry Fonda's characer, certainly a good guy, killed someone near the end of the film. It was not a cold-blooded murder, if I recall, it was something rather dubious though. He never paid for it and I wondered how got by the code.

Also, in Casablanca, Bogie kills the Commandant on the phone and is protected by Rains character. But that might have been in self defense.

Well the two I was thinking of were:

SCARLET STREET - Where Edward G. Robinson kills Joan Bennett and they execute

Dan Durea and.....

WATCH ON THE RHINE - Where Paul Lucas kills the blackmailer in the garage and gets away with it...but your two choices were excellent...YOUR TURN~

Rainviolets 21: You could have left it up there a little longer. Here's what I suggest. If no one correctly answers after 24-36 hours, there's a choice; 1) restate the question and add some clues, or, 2) reveal the answer and ask another question. The person who is up gets to ask another question if their prior one was able to stump the others. Does that sound reasonable? Let me have your feedback.

Since I have a question handy, let me go ahead with it.

WARNING: A lot of people are going to know this, it will be a matter of who gets here first:

We're off to see the Wizard---

The Wonder Wizard of Oz

...

Complete the song. Every word has to be right!

Sorry, that was a typo (or oversight).

There are several errors in your song. Say four or five. Can you try again?

My source is an actual facsimile of a poster that appeared in the NY Times in 1939 where the song is printed out in it's entirety.

tkay: There are three errors. Actually, it's the same error made three times. Can you find it?

rainingviolets (the sneaky one, tsk tsk): You have the same three errors. One error three times.

If you were to sing what you both wrote down it would sound correct. It is in the writing the words of the song on the screen (or on "paper" if you will) wherein the problem lies. It's not a typo though.

Yes, in lines 3, 4, and 5.

Cmygor, you had the earliest post. Care to entertain us with a question?

We must keep scsu1975 happy ;)

Rainingviolets: You are hereby banned from this thread for cheating. ;);););)

In fact, it would. She will turn 70 this year, and she is Prioress of the Queen Of Praise Abbey

in Bethlehem, Connecticut. I could pick her out of a photo lineup if it included a shot from

Where The Boys Are. Otherwise I wouldn't bet on it.

It's yours.

Tkay: May I suggest the following:

1. Restate the question and add some clues

or

2. Reveal the answer to your question and ask another question in it's place.

This way we keep it going. You really stumped us with this one!
