And I've got to add that Barbara Hale got the job of Della Street at Gail Patrick's shop. Barbara had the idea of marketing movie star dolls and was trying to sell it to Gail Patrick. Betty Hutton was scheduled to play the role in ROMANCE ON THE HIGH SEAS that was ultimately played by Doris Day. Hutton had to drop out. Marian Hutton was a band singer with little or no film experience, like Doris. No. Not William Wyler. This director used to be an actor and was married to a lady named Hedda for fifty years. He also had an affair with Rita Hayworth....and he lived less than a month of being a hundred years old....Bette Davis was one of the two actresses..
