DownGoesFrazier
Interesting and true, but your answer doesn't fit the question. Both of these ladies started in films in the '30s.

lavenderblue19
Paulette Goddard and Claire Trevor attended Washington Irving HS at the same time. But did you also know that Claudette Colbert, Anita Page and Patricia Morrison also attended Washington Irving HS?
DownGoesFrazier
As Johnny Carson always said, "I did not know that". Your thread. Where is Washington Irving, in Upper Manhattan? Edited by: finance on Feb 28, 2011 3:47 PM
lavenderblue19
forgot, Gertrude Berg went there also. Just the reverse Washing Irving HS is in lower Manhattan, I think the Grammacy section, Sarah Jessica Parker lives in that area. Be back later with a question. lavenderblue19
LOL- thanks for the advice- already did. You all know the actress. Not only did she have her own TV show, but had a role in a nite time soap.Very lovely actress, and woman. Her heartfelt feelings about the War in Vietnam, won the respect of many mothers. Now do you know the answer to the question?
DownGoesFrazier
Geraldine Page?
lavenderblue19
No not Geraldine Page. I'm not thinking of an actress that was known as much for the theatre and I wrote this actress won Oscar for a Best Supporting, not leading. But thanks for taking a shot, you probably figured my question looked so lonely without any responses! First film was 1941.
mudskipper
My guess is Donna Reed who won the Best Supporting actress for "From Here To Eternity" in 1953.
lavenderblue19
Thanks, mudskipper- Our '50's shirtwaist dress, pearls while vacumming all American Apple Pie Mom was the founder of Another Mother For Peace. Ms. Reed was strongly opposed to the war in Vietnam. Donna Reed was Miss Ellie, replacing Barbara Bel Geddes on Dallas until Bel Geddes decided she wanted to come back. Donna Reed sued but was suffering from cancer when she was fired and the shock to me was that she was only 64 years old when she passed. Beautiful woman, wonderful actress and always a pleasure to watch, Thanks for the guesses finance, and Great job and Thanks Skip. Your thread. mudskipper
Thanks... This performer was doing vaudeville on stage when he saw his brother in the audience. He called to him and the quick-witted brother called back and walked on to the stage. The brother then became part of the routine...Who were the brothers and what was the act ?....
