mudskipper
Ok, Metz...Moe was performing on stage with Ted Healy when he spotted Shemp in the audience. Moe called to him and Shemp supposedly yelled back and walked on to the stage and became a member of "Ted Healy And His Stooges." ... (I suppose it's possible that Moe and Shemp arranged everything beforehand.)...Your turn.

cujas
I wrote and produced, mainly at one studio. Most of my work was in the '30's and '40's. I especially liked to write for Ty Power and Gene Tierney.

DownGoesFrazier
Name a '40s comedy film which was the only screen teaming of a legendary actor and actress, neither of whom did many comedies. Edited by: finance on Mar 15, 2011 6:37 PM

DownGoesFrazier
Good guess, but both Cooper and Stanwyck, especially Stanwyck, did quite a few comedies. This film was in general not as well-regarded as BALL OF FIRE. Edited by: finance on Mar 16, 2011 4:08 PM

DownGoesFrazier
I assume you are referring to LUCKY PARTNERS. Sorry., No.( A better reason for rejecting Cooper and Stanwyck is that they also worked together in MEET JOHN DOE). Ginger did a number of comedies, and her films with Astaire could also be called comedies. Additional hint: The film I am looking for was a Warners' film. That should give it away. MilesArcher
Thanks. I believe that Gene Autry was in only one movie that was not a western. In the movie he played himself and sang a song. Also appearing in the film was a well known baseball player of the time, also playing himself, and even trying to sing a little. This ballplayer met his future wife while making this movie. What was the name of the movie and who was the ballplayer?

MilesArcher
No. "Mystery Mountain" is definitely a western. I'm referring to a non-western movie with several "guest stars", who perform musical numbers as themselves, much like Roy Rogers in "Hollywood Canteen", except that this movie has more of a story.
