FrankGrimes
You mean you've got a wife in the background comforting all the women you're committing yourself to? You just made me laugh out loud. My Uncle Neddiness doesn't stretch that far. My wife doesn't comfort them.

FrankGrimes
If you're married IRL, your wife must need some comforting by other people. Two for two in laughs! My wife does need a lot of comforting. Her family AND mine are on her side, though. They comfort her plenty. Ohhh, you should know that I'm teasing you, B. I'm nowhere near married nor have I ever been. movieman1957
Hi FG: I hope all is well with you. >Ciao, Chris -- I think the lovely MissG is on a vacation. >"Lovely"? Are we speaking of the same girl? Indeed we are. I'm beginning to wonder if you are having trouble with the ladies here. I, on the other hand, am getting along wonderfully with them. At least from my point of view. Be well, Chris
Bronxgirl48
Hey, metsfan, I love old Swampy! I didn't know that Greenpeace had a sense of humor; I'm sympathetic to environmental causes but am turned off nowadays by the ultra-serious tones of some of the advocates This national trend of FORCING people to be stewards of the Earth is very disturbing to me. What if someone doesn't want to recycle? Is he/she going to be sent to a facility for "correction"? If someone doesn't believe in global warming, are they going to be stoned in the marketplace? I was shopping at Whole Foods last week and someone asked me what I was doing to go green. I replied probably putting on a Kermit costume and singing Irish songs. This person suddenly turned very cold and walked away. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
Bronxgirl48
Mein Gott, you mean you're running around even looser than you would be if you were married?? I've got a girl for you. She's 29 (or so she says), lives with her parents in a New York borough, teaches chemistry and watches the Ed Sullivan Show every Sunday. (even though it's not on anymore) Steal her away from Marty. Okay, she's a dog, but you'll have a date for New Year's Eve. And if you ask me what I wanna do tonight, I'll tell you. I'm watching THE OSCAR. metsfan
LOL You are too funny Barb. I understand what you're saying but at the same time it's hard to get people's attention in dealing with serious environmental issues. Kids are turned into video games and Nickelodeon wouldn't lend a character like Spongebob to talk about endangerment and pollution in the ocean. I'm guessing these organizations feel the need to open people's eyes by showing the dramatic effects of their wastes. Speaking about Kermit, there might not be any amphibians left in the next 20 years or so. Mass extinctions are starting due to global warming, deforestation, and Chytrid(a widespread deadly fungus). Bronxgirl48
I'm an old "tree hugger" and nature lover from way back, and I want our country to have sparkling waters, clear blue skies, national parks, and healthy species (including our own). We also need a thriving economy. Yet businesses ought to be more responsible. But enforcements along those lines seem to me to be a slippery slope. Yet we have to do something. I don't know the answers....how to balance the needs of the community with the sanctity of the individual.
movieman1957
Such a well balanced approach. Technology may be the very thing that helps solve both sides of the debate.
Bronxgirl48
Thanks; I try. Yes, technology could be the very thing to take care of these seemingly opposing viewpoints.
metsfan
I got this in my email today involving solar technology. It's really interesting.
FrankGrimes
Hey, Chris -- I hope all is well with you. All things considered, I'm okay. I hope you and your family are doing wonderfully. I'm beginning to wonder if you are having trouble with the ladies here. Always and all ways. I, on the other hand, am getting along wonderfully with them. At least from my point of view. I'm glad there's at least one. Be well Thank you, my friend. I wish you and your loved ones all the more. Guten Abend, Gr?nes M?dchen -- Hey, Mein Gott, you mean you're running around even looser than you would be if you were married?? Is there a difference? I've got a girl for you. She's 29 (or so she says), lives with her parents in a New York borough, teaches chemistry and watches the Ed Sullivan Show every Sunday. (even though it's not on anymore) Steal her away from Marty. Okay, she's a dog, but you'll have a date for New Year's Eve. I'm not into stealing other guys' gals, especially a guy like Marty. And if you ask me what I wanna do tonight, I'll tell you. I'm watching THE OSCAR. Did Bronxie's mom watch The Oscar or was she doing her hair?
Bronxgirl48
I'm not up on my German: what does "Grunes" mean? It better be something like "gorgeous intelligent funny brunette" No, THE OSCAR was on too late for Mom. She usually hits the hay around 10 p.m., although if it's something she REALLY wants to see, she'll stay up later. Apparently this masterpiece of awfulness didn't interest her. Hmm, I not sure when she colored her hair last. Probably yesterday, which means she'll do it again this week-end.

Ha ha ha haaaa!! I feel the same way now about him. I say now because my feelings about his performance underwent a complete turnabout when I finally "got" the humor. He's so dry that I took it literally that he was this priggish character when in fact it's all a pose, just like "Lily's". And the humor didn't register when I first saw it---Marlene's performance excepting. Shanghai Express and Morocco are my two favorite La Dietrich performances. Bronxgirl48
Welcome back! You were missed, believe me. The first time I ever saw SHANGHAI EXPRESS I thought Clive Brook was a zombie -- the living dead. Now I know better. I love Marlene in MOROCCO too as I do her here. Thank you Lady B! I missed you too and missed my Turner Classic Movies, too, though I did cart along a portable dvd player on the plane and watched some (much to the astonishment of people in the seats next to me). i have to have my "black-and-white" fix nearby and I'm not speaking of Oreo cookies! Have you seen any other Clive Brook performances? I can't think of any off hand but there must have been a few I watched, his name is so familiar. I love the bit where she plays with his military cap and the way she uses it to shield their kiss.
MissGoddess
Hi Chris! Yes, I was on a "Roman Holiday" but alas, no Gregory Peck bit off my hand for telling fibs. I didn't "blab" about going on vacation---contrary to what some people think I'm like---partly because I like to remain a woman of mystery. (ha) Or maybe I'm just always on a mental vacation like Mr Grimes said. I still have to pop into the SSO and say "hi"---I haven't even unpacked!
