Not too familiar with Weezer, but I like that song! And I see this one is from "The Muppets Show", which in my book always seemed cooler than "Sesame Street" for some reason. ;)

The Muppet Show was major for me when I was a kid. I was delighted when they started releasing the seasons to DVD-it has been a total hoot to watch them again as an adult. I even thought that the Muppets Tonight show wasn't so bad.

The Muppet Show first came out when I was a jr in high school. And the boy I was dating at the time did a spot-on impersonation of the Swedish Chef. The boyfriend is long gone...but I still love the Swedish Chef.

(Henson could make a "muppet" out of anything!) :-)

I absolutely love the Muppets!!! The show was new when I was little and I never missed it. When I was around 7 my parents took me to Houston to see the Muppets live. This was a real treat since we lived about 45 miles north of the city out in the sticks. I still have the old Miss Piggy doll (she's my fave) that I got when I was 2. I was messing around with my camera one day and I put my cute hat from the 30s on her and I think it looks better on her than it does on me ;).

Some people have kids, others have dogs or cats; but me, I prefer piggies :).

Well you're definitly right about me looking more alive in my hat than Piggy :). Of course she is nursery real you know (I love The Velveteen Rabbit). And hey, she does have feet!! Okay, she may have started life as a puppet but I fixed that when I put that other piggy doll I had up in her to give her an actual body and legs. I felt to sorry for her b/c she was like only have a pig. I was four so stop laughing!!

I haven't seen that many Margaret Sullavan movies (I love her in TSATC but am indifferent to CRY HAVOC; I saw THE GOOD FAIRY but don't

remember it at all) but I think THREE COMRADES must be her best.

If Bette hadn't been Jezebel, I do believe Maggie would have won the Oscar for 1938. Who were the other nominees? Kate for BRINGING UP BABY?

I didn't realize that F. Scott Fitzgerald was co-writer of the screenplay.

Sullivan infuses Pat with a kind of elegiac party-girl poignancy; someone who lives-for-today (and has a wild past) but is also aware of the passing of time.

Frank, I just know you're standing in front of your bathroom mirror trying to grow a Colman mustache.

But I think the hormones are kicking in and nothing will grow. (don't worry, I love a sensitive man; in fact, I took an on-line quiz and it said I prefer the Boy Next Door.

Speaking of trolleys, I wish you were on one.

All I want is my fair share.

Comedy gold, Bronxie!!! :)

Either that, or he's trying to pose all sexy like Charles Farrell here.

Sorry, I didn't mean for you to short our your keyboard :).

Charles is in seven of the 12 films that will be included in the *Murnau/Borzage at Fox* set coming out in Dec. They are a mix of silents and talkies. Three of them ( *Seventh Heaven*, *Street Angel*, and *Lucky Star* ) are ones that have him paired with Janet Gaynor. They made 11 films together and were a hugely popular movie couple from ?27-?34. They are my second fave movie pairing along with William Powell and Myrna Loy out of all the pairs who made multiple films together. Janet was the stronger actor of the two and usually got top billing, but Charles was good too. He really had a Gary quality about him and that?s what attracted me to him. They were both born the same year, were tall (Charles was only one inch shorter than Gary at 6?2?), kinda lanky although Charles was a little beefier, but not too beefy, and they both just come off as really sweet, nice guys.

Here?s a couple of adorable pics of Charles and Janet in their heyday and then of them in 1970.

He went on to be mayor of Palm Springs in the 40s after he retired from the movies and was one of the people who really helped put that place on the map as a hangout for movie stars. He also made a return to showbiz in the TV show *My Little Margie* as the dad in the 50s. He was only married once from '31 to '68 when his wife died. He lived to be 89 and passed away in 1990.

I hadn't noticed until my mom mentioned it a while back that I look a little like Janet Gaynor. We have a similar build (except I'm 5'4" and she was only 5') and in this pic below we do look a little alike - weird :).
