coopsgirl
*All this Coop and Coop-type stuff today has left me beaten and battered.* Just in case you haven?t had quite enough yet here?s a video I made a while back with clips from *Seventh Heaven* with the hunky Coop-like Charles Farrell and the adorable Janet Gaynor. Youtube was down last night so I had to wait until this morning and I uploaded a 10 minute video of my fave clips from *The River*. It hadn't finished processing yet when I left and we can't access youtube at work so I don't have the link for it but if anybody wants to see Charles Farrell taking a dip in his birthday suit and then getting the heck vamped out of him by Mary Duncan, just search for 'The River Selected Scenes' in youtube. JackFavell
Ohh, wow. That was beautiful Coopsgirl. I have been saving my copy of Seventh Heaven (I have never watched it) for last in the pile of silents that I am trying to get through. I can't wait to see it. I am going to go look up those "River" scenes right now....
JackFavell
Coopsgirl- AWESOME clips from The River! Another great job- and such a fine looking birthday suit on Mr. Farrell. My pulse is speeding up.... I will have to get a copy of that movie... I'll post the youtube link: Message was edited by: JackFavell
JackFavell
Hey, do you mind me asking, where did you get a copy of this movie? It doesn't seem to be on the new Borzage/Murnau box set coming out later, so I am curious....
coopsgirl
Thanks for posting the link for *The River*. It really is a cool movie, what there is of it anyway. Charles does a good job of being completely na?ve about women and Mary Duncan made a great vamp. A woman could learn a thing or two from her about how to trap a man . I?m glad you liked the *Seventh Heaven* slideshow. I was listening to my 80s mix at work one day and that song came up and it made me think of it. I didn?t give too much away really so you?ll still be surprised when you watch the movie. It?s so sweet and I know you?ll love it. Janet and Charles are fantastic in it. I especially like how Chico (Charles? character) is a little rough with Diane (Janet) at first like when he?s dragging her out of the street b/c he doesn?t really know what to do with her. He eventually softens up a little and treats her so sweetly it just makes me swoon :x.
coopsgirl
I got my copy from Jeff (gagman66). It is going to be in the Murnau/Borzage box set but it's in there as a bonus feature so it doesn't have it's own disc. There's only about 55 minutes of it (and that includes the stills and additional title cards to pad it out) so they put it in there as a bonus. Here's a link to more detailed info about the set and a pic of it too. It looks really great. http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=68876
JackFavell
Thanks for the info- I am seriously considering paying the 240 bucks for this one. I am really looking forward to seeing Liliom, not to mention all the other movies and restored too!

I am really looking forward to seeing Liliom, not to mention all the other movies and restored too! Of course, it's almost certainly going to be considerably less than $240 with retailer discounts. Some are already listing it for $180 or so.
coopsgirl
If you have the money now, you might want to go ahead and preorder since amazon is offering a discount. I can't wait to see beautiful restored copies of them too.

Did you see the awful things he said about poor Smithy in the Film Noir forum? Tisk, tisk. I did my best to defend him. I love that dress Greer wears in the necklace scene. That shoulder-gracing neckline is so flattering, it's one of my favorite movie gowns.

He hasn't even posted in Professor ChiO's "Voyeurism class", so we must be winning him away from the "dark side". I bet he's been too busy watching Pride and Prejudice.
