syrup
I just saw The Red Shoes for the first time. My question is about one of the scenes in a club after the ballet. The cast is celebrating their sucess by poring a absurdly large bottle of what I guess is Champaign. Has anyone seen a bottle that big? Is it a European or French thing that people in America Don't get, (I'm from the Detroit area, we're more of a beer town.) The only other time I saw a bottle that size was in Mel Brook's Silent Movie when Mel Funn went off the wagon.
Poinciana
A bit of trivia: A big bottle of wine like that is called a "Jereboam" after biblical King Jereboam.
