markbeckuaf
Wow, I didn't even know there was a Glenda Farrell day on June 30, but if there was, and it isn't happening now, I'll add my voice to yours, and ask "where did it go??" Glenda Farrell rocks!!! I'd LOVE to see a day devoted to her!!!

PrinceSaliano
June 30th is Glenda's birthday (#104) and they scheduled a day of her movies. Now the schedule has been changed! GGGRRRRRRR!

PrinceSaliano
I hope tcmprogrammer comments on this. It seems pre-Code fans always get the shaft.
chrtbsh
It comes down to rights issues - several days that were originally planned for June had to be changed. We will try to replay this day down the line, it had nothing to do with them being pre-code films.
PrinceSaliano
Thanks for responding. I appreciate your attention. However, I think most of those titles (except Columbia's MAN'S CASTLE) have previously played on TCM. I especially enjoy those Blondell-Farrell co-starring comedies. markbeckuaf
Hi TCMProgrammer---thank you very much for your graciousness in responding to this inquiry. I'm curious as to why WB films would have a rights issue though? Weren't most of the films in this tribute WB films? That does seem odd, but I do hope that whatever the actual reason, these films will show up again soon. I love Glenda Farrell and many of your fans love pre-code films and these would be a very welcome addition to any day or evening's lineup!
VP19
I too hope the Glenda Farell films can be shown at a later date; she was a solid actress of the pre-Code era. And to tcmprogrammr: I hope TCM is planning to show an array of Carole Lombard films for Monday, Oct. 6, the centennial of her birth. I recall you showed 24 hours of Lombard in August 2006, and I hope you can procure a similar batch of films (including a few rarities) this time around.
