FemmeFatale2

which movie did this photo come from?

Recommended Posts

I believe that is from Ma and Pa Kettle Go To Town. That's Marjorie Main in the chair, and Peter Leeds as the hairdresser.

I wonder if the scene was deleted or edited. When I checked the movie description, it listed both Main and Leeds, so I assumed that had to be it.

The lady is Gloria Swanson.

The man is a production guy at Universal Studios.

I don't know what movie the picture originated from.

No, it really is from MA AND PA KETTLE GO TO TOWN and the hair dresser is, in fact, Peter Leeds. If you look closely you'll see it's a reverse shot (his smock has a label).

It's a composite photo, for humorous effect: Swanson's head grafted onto the body of the photo's original subject.

CAPTION:

"Yes, I know, all the preparation is worth it. But how boring. My first S&M meeting and I'm sitting in the chair for an hour. I may have to go back to watching Joan Crawford movies."

This is like a Laurel and Hardy movie. There?s a big hole in the street. They come along in their old car and fall into it. Then dozens of other cars come along and fall into it.

We played this game as kids .. we'd all stare up at the sky, wait for someone to walk by, who would invariable stare up at the sky, then we'd leave. I think Harry Carey used a similar ruse on Edwina Booth in Trader Horn, only he was staring off into the jungle. Of course, he was just trying to shut her up.

Yes, I noticed that. She was fussing at him in that foreign language, then he suddenly looked ahead, like he was startled, as if he saw something dangerous. She shut up, and as he walked forward, so did she.
