Here's an odd one.....

Yesterday, while watching I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING, one of my sisters in law droped over to borrow some cumin for the picadillo she was making.  Looking briefly at the screen she remarked, "I think it's cool when they make new movies look like they're old."  I mentioned that it WAS an old movie, 75 years old to be specific, and she replied, "But, isn't that the girl from DHARMA and GREG?" (Jenna Elfman)  I told her it was an English actress from the '30's and '40's named WENDY HILLER.  But I have to admit.  in certain shots and in certain angles, Dame Hiller did resemble miss Elfman to an extent.

This same kind'a sort'a Hiller/Elfman thing happened to me last night Sepia, and as I was watching the 1947 noir Crossfire on the Movies! channel.

One of the secondary actors in it was named George Cooper, an actor whose Hollywood career lasted a mere 7 or 8 years with only about 12 or so credits. He was also in another Mitchum -starring movie, Blood on the Moon, but other than these two notable films, not too much of consequence.

Well anyway, while watching him in Crossfire here...

...he began to remind me of another more modern actor, but I couldn't think of who that might be at first.

Then it hit me...Treat Williams...

I recently saw a rerun of a "Perry Mason" episode with Joyce Bulifant,

and I thought she looked like Sue Ann Langdon.

How about Roy Rogers

and singer Clint Black?

I'm not the first to notice a resemblance.

While watching another "Perry Mason" rerun recently, I noticed that an actor named Benny Baker

reminded me of Marvin Kaplan, who you may remember from the "Alice" TV show.

At times, however, Benny Baker reminds me of Ned Beatty.

That was the best shot I could locate of Cec.  But I just finished watching an entire movie that he was in and thought the resemblance was so so.

That shot of him reminds me of another actor whose name I can't conjure.

In that shot I'd say I think he has a bit of a Christopher Lee look goin' on there.

And re George C. Scott, I've always thought the guy who most resembled him was Steely Dan's Donald Fagen...

I was rewatching the Decameron yesterday and I thought how much Pier Paolo Pasolini looks like Big Ed from Twin Peaks.

Yep, and in the case of the latter here, with maybe a dash of (believe it or not) the recently departed Fred Willard.

(...and re "Twin Peaks"...I've always thought Kyle MacLachlan could've maybe been Robert Vaughn's love child)

I see Fred Willard too. Fred was a handsome funny man.

That guy reminds me Charles Lane, at least in that picture.

Maybe it's the specs and hairline, but now I'm thinkin'  RICHARD KILEY circa BLACKBOARD JUNGLE.

These guys may not look that much alike, but they remind me of one another.  They could all have been cast in the same roles.

One of today's actors, William Fichtner, whom you may have seen in "The Perfect Storm", "The Lone Ranger", and the TV series, "Mom"

And Nazi propaganda minister and Hitler's right hand man, Joseph Goebbels.

Hmmm...well here's a little suggestion for ya here regarding this, Miles.

Now, I'm thinkin' here that IF you'd like the folks around here to begin to believe that there's much resemblance at all between these two guys, then take a page out the latter's playbook and begin repeating this post over and over again!

(...naaah, not really of course ;) , but dude, sorry, I'm not seein' a whole lot of resemblance here...okay, MAYBE a little, but not a whole lot anyway...OH and btw, I LOVE the "Mom" sitcom...always thought it was one of best written and acted on-going hits on TV today...I never miss a first-run episode if I can help it)

YOUNG, her name was GWEN!), Shelley LONG & DEBRA WINGER-(most 4-get she's also the voice of E.T.)  S.  MacLaine is no fan of hers'
