"Guy" Movies

DAR34

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on for one week watching some essential "guy" films everynight . Movies that talk the talk and walk the walk. I don't want to go into the 80's otherwise Raiders of the Lost Ark and Die Hard would make it. And I don't want to repeat for example Sunday would be Dirty Harry that means I'd leave out a Clint western. But here's the films I'm thinking of:

Sunday-Dirty Harry-1971-Clint Eastwood

Monday-The Dirty Dozen 1967-Lee Marvin

Tuesday-Pappilion 1971-Steve McQueen

Wednesday-Cool Hand Luke 1967-Paul Newman

Thursday-The Seven Samurai-1954 Toshiro Mifune

Friday-White Heat-1949 James Cagney

Saturday-Rio Bravo-1958-John Wayne

Any other suggestions?

Hi, Dar.

Here's a female perspective on "guy" movies:

THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (the one and only Errol)

Anything with John Wayne

CASABLANCA

ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES

anything with the Stooges or Abbott and Costello

ONLY ANGELS HAVE WINGS

THE THING (original)

Anything with Adrienne Barbeau

They are indeed similiar. Everyone in P&P meets his and her doom at the finale.

Marriage = carnage, death, total destruction.

:)

How many "guy" films do you think it takes to wash off a Pride and Prejudice viewing, Bronxie? I need to prepare myself for the worst.

Hiya, Tough Girl -- Yes, by all means start with UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN. Pretty soon, you'll start noticing cramps and bloating during "that time of the month".

"Cramps and bloating" on a "guy movies" thread. You are giving Dar plenty of reason to immediately load up on guy movies.

Hey, Visualfeast -- Nice list... and a nice save.

The Killing and The Asphalt Jungle are two more "guy" flicks that I like. Sterling Hayden is a man's man.
