Film_Fatale
I watched another movie last night I'd been meaning to watch for a long while - *Executive Action* with Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan. It might be interesting historical speculation, but little more than that. More than anything, I just enjoyed watching Lancaster and Ryan still working so late in their careers. And of course, some of the documentary footage was pretty good, too.

FrankGrimes
I don't hear, hear anything from your bunkhouse, Dude. Was the effort of keeping a promise to post about 3 Bad Men too much for you? I said, "later"! "Dude"? Are you Valance? I figured as much. Would you like me to pick up your steak? MissGoddess
Chris, I thought this review of Borzage's *Lucky Star* DVD, which was also scored by Christopher Caliendo, was interesting in light of what you had to say about his music for *3 Bad Men*. I think Mr. Eyman agrees with you about the "hoe down" aspect of his music! lol http://tinyurl.com/5h7lsh
movieman1957
I still have the DVD at home and Dana Kaproff composed the music for it. imdb lists it and it is as I remember it on the DVD. While there may two different versions the end result is the same. I was thinking more along the line of what a typical orchestral arrangement might do but what you get is a quartet consisting of piano, guitar, drums and violin (though fiddle would be more apt.) I hate the sound a fiddle makes. Electric violins are no better. There is little chance for the music to soar when it might need to and almost no chance to be elegant when required. A solo piano more have been more effective. I take nothing away from their talent. Lord knows it is hard enough writing music and to play requires a special gift as well but it just seemed ill-suited much of the time.

FrankGrimes
I believe "later" in most of the English speaking world generally refers to "later in the SAME day"...not several days after. You should know by now that I'm from a different world. And what have you done with my apron?!

FrankGrimes
Kathy!!!! He's taken advantage of our leniency just as I KNEW he would. Where's the rope? Go ahead and hang me! Then I'm off the hook, so to speak. Oh! It's here by the neatly laundered and pressed apron. Terrific! A man must look his sharpest at a hangin'. rohanaka
NEVER mind. OH NO! THIS is a serious offense so we can't let him off "the hook"! :-) PS...April, you left out the beginning of the sentence...as in..."You never mind..." and the rest of the sentence would have to be...."But it comes as no surprise...when DID you ever mind???" OH...Mr. Grey...We have 3 inches of snow on the ground and we have had 3 nights in a row of single digit temps around here...That old rope is awfully frozen now...and if we DO have to hang you....nobody said it was going to be by the neck.. April...we could hang him upside down by his ankles and then place the computer keyboard just below him and we won't let him down until he reports in... wadda ya think??? Desperate times call for desperate measures. :-) Message was edited by: rohanaka
