I think he owes ME several apologies! No, I am definitely NOT a "New Yorker" and never,

ever will be. This is not my town...but I'm happy to say it hasn't beaten me, though it has

done everything in its power to do so.

You'll love it! The audiences so far have been enjoying her immensely.

Hi Rohanaka,

Hi Molo....I am looking forward to getting to this one maybe by the end of the week. I haven't had time to get to it as yet, but I remember it from highschool and would like to see the film. Will let you know when I get it watched.

Great! I really liked it. Let me know if the sound seemed uneven to you.

I also wanted to tell you as a friend that someone on here is giving you REALLY bad advice (I won't say just who, but his name rhymes w/ "tank crimes"+)

Thanks for the warning. I think I know who you mean. ;)

Not a good idea at all...We are already overdue for one hanging and you seem like such a nice guy...+

uh oh, I'll try and keep my nose clean round these parts. Frank I think they are going to get you sooner or later. :)

*Rio Bravo* is one of my favorite films. I know Hawks didn't care for Will Kane going around asking for help in *High Noon.* I'll be watching *High Noon* soon, a double feature with *Rio Bravo* is not a bad idea. I might just watch them on consecutive nights though.

Actually this is just the product of my twisted imagination, LOL.

Hi MissGoddess,

I'm glad you enjoyed your date. :)

I really love visiting New York but I don't live there. Getting a chance to see classic films on the big screen with an audience would be a major perk though. Many of the people I know that live or have lived there and are not native New Yorkers do seem to get tired of it after a while. I just think it would be exciting to live there.

Okay. I'm glad to see you have the strength of a native Noo Yawker not to be beaten down. Sorry 'bout my town; it can be daunting. :-(

But I hope it's given you some fun moments too. :-)

Hi Molo! I think you make Richmond sound very appealing, so don't think the "grass is

greener" (well, what grass there is in the city, :P ).

Thanks, CineMaven, yes my friends have shared some fun times with me here. There

is no doubt New York is not a dull town and I'm grateful for what I have, which is much

more than many in this world, at this time.

And did I mention I get goosebumps whenever Frank Sinatra sells it in his rendition of

"New York, New York"? :)

Oh, my goodness, YES, I love "Autumn in New York", it's one of the loveliest songs ever

written. And I should mention that one of my tippy-top favorite songs of ALL time, "Violets for

Your Furs", mentions Manhattan in the first few words.

I like this one, too:

You can't beat the town that never sleeps! B-)

I do too, but then, I also get goosebumps when I hear "It's a Wonderful Town"

Not sure if I am familiar with those. Maybe I should check them out. B-)

I highly recommend a nice little thriller in the Hitchcock vein, *The Green Glove* (1952), directed by

Rudolph Mate and starring Glenn Ford and his old Gilda nemesis, George Macready. It's

swift pacing, tight script and above all, GORGEOUS location shooting that's all over France---

Paris, the southern locales and Monte Carlo took my breath away. If only it had been shot in

color. Neverthelss, this movie takes enormous advantage of the place---I spotted nary a studio

shot---including cafes, hotels, train and metro stations as well as gorgeous medeival ruins and the

dramatic canyons and gorges of the southern Interior.

Cute Geraldine Brooks is the leading lady, and she reminds me a lot of Margaret Lockwood

in THE LADY VANISHES, both in spirit and appearance. Cedrick Hardwicke is also on hand.

The Alpha video print of the DVD was predictably murky in spots, but not unbearable. I rented

this but I think I'm going to buy it. Lots of fun and the ending had me guessing how it would

turn out.

It really did feel like vintage "Hitch" in spots.

Guess that means it's a PD movie... {sigh} Oh well, I guess it's better than no DVD at all. :|
