ugaarte
Hi Gagman . . . You made mention of the name 'Buster and Anita'. Is that actually Buster Keaton holding that umbrella. He does have the same 'sad' eyes ... but somehow he looks different ... I can't quite put my finger on it. But that is a great shot of both of them. And that 'card' of 'The Mark of Zorro' is NOT colorized, you say ? How did that 'Blue Shy' happen ? The silhouette of Douglas Fairbanks riding on a horse looks Awesome ! And great Lobby Cards, once again, Gagman .... especially the one with Pola Negri. And also 'Paid to Love' and 'Whispering Wires'. Is that Clara Bow in 'Yesterday's Wives' ? Great Pictures, Gagman ! gagman66
ugaarte, Yeah, that's BK with Anita Page. I was not happy with the photo. Something is off about the results.Maybe it is the skintones? The ZORRO is a tinted Lobby of some kind. I don't think it's a Glass Slide? YESTERDAY'S WIFE has Irene Rich and Eileen Percy. Rich was very pretty but I am used to seeing her play slightly older women. I already posted some new stuff in the other thread about a half hour ago. I'll grab some more cards. Some really funny stuff coming up. Have a bunch of Lobby's for THE MATING CALL (1928), but may wait with those, since the movie is on the July TCM schedule next month

gagman66
ugaarte, I like this lobby-card allot. It's very busy! Blanche Sweet in SINGED (1926). Plus a couple additional cards for a popular Madge Bellamy release from the same year.
gagman66
Here are three fine portraits of Doug And Mary. All of them were published in Vanity Fair. These are from 1922, 1924, and 1927 respectively. Pickford appears to have short hair in two of these. I think it's just tied up in the earlier photo.

gagman66
milkshake, For your information the card is not colorized. So I don't know what your problem is? None of these are. Try not being such a cynical.nuisance. *Mary Miles Minter- "Eyes Of The Heart (1920)* *Florence Vidor- "BABARA FRIETCHIE" (1924)*
gagman66
Here are a couple extremely Rare Lobby's for a lost Alma Rubens (Mrs. Richardo Cortez) feature of 1927. With a young Walter Pigeon as the leading man.
gpr1950
Just finished reading "Alma Rubens, Silent Snowbird" (2006) edited by Gary D. Rhodes and Alexander Webb. Contains her 1930 self-penned autobiography, updated biography, and filmography. "Heart of Salome" (1927) was her return to Fox "after a long period of illness." A real eye-opener into 1920's drug abuse in Hollywood.
ugaarte
That sounds like some very 'Interesting' READ about 'Alma Rubens', GPR1950 . . . The kind of Reading where I would find it very hard to put the book down . . . and about 'drug abuse in Hollywood' yet. Thanks much for sharing that info. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx And Such Lovely Lobby Cards of Alma Rubens, too, Gagman. And I also agree with you on the 'Singed' Lobby Card being quite 'busy'. Plus I find that it's also Pleasingly 'Dotted' with Pastel Colors throughout the picture, with the ladies hats being Yellow, Blue Green, Red, Orange and Lavendar . . . And those 3 'Sandy' Lobby Cards are quite delightful, as well. And Mary Pickford's hair does look like its' pinned up .... not cut off, yet ! She and Douglas look like they are absolutely 'Matched' for each other. And that's an interesting outfil that Mary Miles Minter is wearing . . . with a tiny 'Clutch/Purse' attached to her dress . . . Wonderful Posts, Gagman.

gagman66
*Gloria Swanson- "Evenings Lace"* Not convinced this is Lillian Gish at all from *THE WIND?* To me it looks allot more like Bessie Love in a similar role. I'll do some more checking and see what I can find out. If it is Bessie, then I have the eyes the wrong hue. *Bessie Love- "MEDUSA HAIR!!!*

ugaarte
Hi Gagman . . . That's such a Lovely Poster of Corinne Griffith in 'Millie Modiste' (1926). I love the lithographic background. Great shot ! And Raquel Torres looks 'Sweet' in her Spanish Veil. What a Stunning shot of Gloria Swanson, looking so intent ! Judging by the 'Rustic' walls and railings, it looks like she's in a cabin of some sort. . . . Ya think ? And I'm in agreement with you. That girl does not look like Lillian Gish. Hope you'll be able to find out who it is. And I love the 2 pictures with 'Ladies Must Dress' and 'Pajamas', especially the one with Olive Borden it it. I just Love the Yellow, Oriental garb she's 'posing' in. And Valentino looks so Unique in his '17 Century' garb. I love that brooch he's sportin' on his neck . . . And Vilma Banky appears 'Sweet and Serene' in her pose. I just love the 'Pink-ish' overtones, like in her headpiece there. I thought @ first it was one of those 'blinders' used over the eyes when one goes to sleep and don't want to be bothered by any light . . . but then I spotted the decorations of Pearls and then knew it was a headpiece, instead. Thanks Gagman for sharing.
gagman66
ugaarte, As always thanks for your comments. Wendy hasn't visited here in at least a couple months. I wonder if I didn't accidentally say something that might have offended her? No Johanna, or Bronxie either, among others. Very disappointed not hearing from any of them. Here is an interesting shot. This still shows Corinne Griffith with a Blonde, livening up the party. It looks to be Gwen Lee, or maybe Gertrude Astor? but I can't really tell for sure? Any other ideas? The graphic is very soft. Not as sharp as I would like. Maybe there is a better monochrome version out their someplace. Unfortunately, I don't know what movie this is from. *"THE SPIKE OF LIFE!"*
