cjrogan2003
Tyrone Power's death in 1958 at the age of 45 was quite shocking. What roles do you think he would have played had he lived to, say, 2001? (he would have been 87)
littletramplover
Rudolph Valentino's death in 1926 at the age of 31 was also quite shocking. What roles would he have played had he lived to, say, 2001? He would have been 106. (sorry to be cheeky, but your question just struck me as, well, strange.) classicsfan1119
CJ, we've been through this "had they lived" stuff before in another thread you started. I'm fairly certain that anyone here who replied to you then (there were very few of us) will want to do it again. These kinds of questions make no sense, and are therefore impossible to answer. Sorry. ML
leobertucelli
I think it makes sense when U consider the so-called actors of today - aside from Hopkins & H.Ford the rest are crapy! Leo --
cinemetal
Personally, I see many great actors around today, but they're usually in smallish parts in lesser-known films. To me, an actor like Ryan Gosling burns just as intensely as the original Method pack. What we need are better scripts in an atmosphere prone to less revenue-minded cynicism and juvenile topical immaturity.
bggalaxy
I feel actors have been great, good, bad, and terrible throughout the history of film. You can not say that any decade had a greater percentage of great actors to bad ones. There is truth in the statment that poor and unoriginal scripts are part to blame on the thought of todays group of actors. Which is tied into the fact "Money talks". That is one reason I enjoy the Independent and Sundance movie channels. You get original scripts, good acting, and creative film making.
